Suunto 2.50.26 – Q4 2025 Release Notes
-
thanks… anything on the battery issue?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos That flashlight mode is a good improvement
-
@thanasis while many have been talking about the battery issue and there are improvements already in this SW release what typically users fail to check to check is the generical overall battery as described here https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14214/battery-drain/18 ie

the user did some extensive logging and despite the apparent sometimes big drain in general the battery life seems ok.
The blue line is measured. The purple one is the model- After the SW update you might see bigger drains between percentages till the battery is calibrated.
- You might get 1-2 of fast drain vs 1-2 days of normal / slow drain .
We have battery logging to monitor this. If there is a regression we should be able to find this out.
To answer better your question: Yes all previous conversations have been taken into account and should be resolved.

It looks great.
The integration of ZoneSense into the watch itself is pleasing (though it could still be better), and the improved altimeter performance in wind/water conditions – finally, after so many years of complaints
-
Great stuff! Mega update

. -
Why isnt there Vertical 1 included? Will the new OHR InHouse Algorithm available for Vertical 1 too? Its excluded here

-
One very important thing is concerning – the lack of improvement/restoration of visibility of paths and trails from the 500m view.
Should such a change be implemented in the watch update or the maps themselves?

First of all, thank you for the update, the new features, and the bug fixes. However, there is still an ongoing issue that has persisted for over 10 months: interval training is not exporting correctly to third-party apps (Strava, TrainingPeaks, Runna, etc.). Specifically, interval laps are not handled correctly in the .fit file export, as described here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/12624/interval-laps-are-not-exported-to-third-parties-and-.fit-file-correctly-if-lap-button-is-presed-breaks-runna-strava/64

this is changed as well.
Export to strava will correctly handle manual in parallel to auto laps.
You might just need to re-create the guide in SA. -
Note, that for me on Suunto Race, the installation behaved like a hard reset, i.e., watch needs to be repaired to the app, all zones are reset, sleep tracking is disabled, all paired sensors are removed and HRV range needs to be relearned.
-
@Egika I tried creating a new workout in TrainingPeaks (TP) that is synced to my Suunto watch. During the set intervals, I tried shortening several of them by pressing the manual LAP button. In TP, I could then only see those manual LAPs, while the intervals that ended automatically were not recorded
So instead of the 6 planned intervals, I only saw 4 laps in the recorded data v TP
-
Great ! But nothing about VO2max and music on the watch 🥺.
-
I have run the update for Race S and it worked without any issue.
To be sure I have run a (manual) restart after it.Thank you Suunto, it seem to be a big update with a lot of features.
-
@Dieter1960 Don’t you have VO2max?
-
@Dieter1960 music on the watch is not anything close to promised.
-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen oh noooooooo again??? Fuck im sorry. Now it would be great (much of us wishing this) reload all settings from the App.
-
Nice !!

-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen Didn’t have this on the Vertical 2. What watch do you have?

You might just need to re-create the guide in SA.Here you can see how it is synced to TP and Strava. Inside Suunto app is all correctly.
The workout was structured as follows:
1 min – Warmup
1 min – Hard
1 min – Easy (manually shortened after 30s using the LAP button)
1 min – Hard
1 min – Easy (manually shortened after 10s using the LAP button)
1 min – Cool down

Great to see such a huge list of improvements. If the new OHR algorithm is any good than my biggest gripe with the Race S will be a thing of the past…

How are the new automatic transitions in Triathlon and SwimRun supposed to work? And why aren’t those for Duathlon or Aquathlon?
The changes for Interval training: Does it only affect intervals created by Suunto App or any of the Guides, including those from partners?
