Search the forum, it was written recently that Ocean is not dead.
But saying when something will be out, the answer is the usual oneā¦ -

Their stuff is continuously supported, even multisport watches with diving functions - like Fenix 8.
Sad that Suunto, European brand is unable to keep the pace US brands, and is unable to write the firmware using partioned scheduling, asymmetric multi-processing,etc. for multi core applicationsā¦
nowadays software is what brings the most value

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Sorry to say it, but if Reliability and Battery efficiency would be the focus for Multisport watches we wouldnāt have the current problems with Crashes, not working Bluetooth sensors and Battery drain.
For Dive products this might be. Had two Zoops, both died with depth sensor problems. So it wasnāt softwareā¦ -

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos The question was why the Firmware is late and YOU started to argue. I doubted it and I think free exchange of opinions is what a forum is for. Also I think my post had no aggressive speech or similar in it. And my claims are well supported by user reports.
So I have no idea why you are saying MY post is off topic.
But this should end here - you accused me and I think I had all the right to defend myself -
Can we have confirmation that the ocean is now abandoned ?.
The recent release of the classic vertical watchface for the whole range and the fact itās not available for ocean does reinforce the thought that suunto have killed any development.

@mcardlejon I would say it is abandoned, it feels like that. It seems like the watch came 5 years ago and not 2 years ago.

Looking forward to something.
For my own specific situation the Ocean hits all requirements but as a premium product the support seems lacking.
My considerably older 9pp is still receiving regular updates and I can see the substantial improvement the updates have made to my race S.

Definitely not abandoned.

@Egika I hope we recive this āpending updateā soon, I had 3 x Race S watches fail on me in cold exposure and Suunto recommended the Ocean, but now I donāt get the swim feature that I requested over the past years. I do understand that there is more testing involve, but I expect a delay of 1-2 months after other devices release, but at this rate we will be over a year behind on Suunto ocean. I have reached out to Suunto to assist in beta testing multiple times but never get a response. I mere want to help the Ocean and product delays get better. It is frustrating seeing other models get multiple big updates (2 already in 2026), but yet the Ocean lags so far behind. I am here to help if they need it.

@Reino-von-Wielligh a new firmware for the Ocean should arrive before the summer as far as I know, but cannot comment on the features that will be in it. The Ocean firmware follows a different development than the outdoor watches.

@isazi Thanks for the update, I really do hope we get the features, as swimming is primarily my sport. And the watch is both diving and sport advertised. Also, the fact that Suunto recommended this knowing my use case does not seem to make sense at this point. I would really like to get involved to help the delays on the Ocean, as it is a solid product just lacks the support in comparison to the other outdoor watches.
