Maps Update Rollout, March 2026, Staged
-
@pavel.samokha Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Poland?
These are very popular places with a strong outdoor tradition.
-
Updates will come in the upcoming weeks, it will take time.
I updated the post with release info.
-
@Squirrel good catch, I’ll convey this info
-
There are some areas in Türkiye that need updating. We’re waiting to see when they will be updated.
-
This was my biggest complaint to Suunto. My watch will be much more useful in the mountains now.
I really like how Suunto has really upped their game in the software department lately. New features every few months, great looking watchfaces every now and then. Keep it up Suunto!

@pavel.samokha
There have been a lot of requests for paths to be visible at greater zoomed out levels instead of disappearing but this isn’t on your list - is it coming please? I think that’s important and I understand it was previously the case until an earlier update/change. -
@MarkG Should come with the next firmware update. It’s software problem, not data.
-
@pavel.samokha downloading a map from the beginning will download the updated version? I am asking because I resetted the watch to defaults and then the maps started downloading again
-
@thanasis yes
-
@pavel.samokha Thanks for that.
-
Is anyone else experiencing crashes/reboots during the map updates? My Vertical crashed 2 times while downloading the maps.
-
@surfboomerang what maps did you downloaded?
-
@GiPFELKiND It happened while updating part of The Netherlands and Austria.
-
@surfboomerang Do you have updates for Austria?
At least for Vorarlberg and Tyrol I don’t have updated maps yet… -

Austria and Netherlands are not mentioned in the list of updates

Vorarlberg and Tyrol
Those two maps were updated as well yesterday.
I tried to find a version number to verify but I can’t find oneEdit:
Just remembered that my watch recovered from a failed state a while ago. (too many f*ckups with SuuntoPlus app development
)@pavel.samokha are maps on the watch removed when the watch is recovered? That could explain the downloads.

I can’t say with 100% confidence
-
@surfboomerang No, none of my watches have crashed while updating maps. R2, V2, RaceS.
-
@Brad_Olwin I think the question was, if maps could get lost when the watch crashes hard.
