Loving the new update, a lot of useful improvements so well done Suunto!

Previously the Race 2 slightly under recorded distances, but I’ve just done a run with the new firmware and it seems a lot better, matching my other GPS watch (for the first time ever). Can anyone confirm that this was one of the bug fixes/ improvements for the Race 2?

I was really looking forward two things: HR on the map display and the fix of the BT disconnection. I am half happy as I got only the first one! Please keep up with the good work and add this in the pipeline!

The zoom-in feature is super helpful but, from what I saw, the zoom level label does not change accordingly. Did I misinterpreted the feature?

I don’t know how you interpreted it in the first place, so can’t say, but looking at Janne Kallio’s video, the zoom “label” at 9 o’clock changes from 1 km to 50 m and back.

@SamuelP where is this screen hidden? I was looking for customization of data fields on map in Suunto app for the whole day and now I see it’s somewhere on the watch
but still cannot find it

@mich-heller Should be available while navigating, on the Map page > ☰ Menu

I can see that the function “Recovery heart rate measurement immediately after exercise” is described in the release notes. I have also found the “Recovery HR” button and enabled it.
However, I cannot see that anything happens.
Can anyone explain how HRR works?

And you probably have to finish exercise at HR zone 2, or above.

@Squirrel Thanks for the very quick reply!

Maximum map detail at 500 m zoom level
This makes me happy! I wonder if this translates to 0.2 mi or 0.5 mi zoom level for watches configured in imperial units. It used to be 0.5 mi (800m) in the beginning of 2025. I guess I’ll know soon. Also, Vertical 2 anniversary edition arrives today. I promised that I’ll upgrade my watch when this issue is resolved and I have done that!
I am also very happy about a number of other map and navigation improvements, and mixed units, and a few other things! Very well done Suunto and everyone involved!

Touchscreen to navigate from screen to screen !
WOW !!!This one I am not going to use for sure - not compatible with rain or long sleeves getting wet from sweat. But I see how a lot of people will like this feature. Hopefully it is configurable!

By the way - wasn’t SV1 identical to SR1 in terms of underlying hardware? I thought the only difference was the display and the crown. SV1 even had more memory than SR1 (32GB vs 16GB). I always thought Vertical was more ‘premium’ than the Race. Unless it’s the display type that is the limitation here.

My guess it is the display resolution. All more recent watches starting from Race have the same higher resolution.
-
@sky-runner It could be. But I was reading about instability due to insufficient memory and that made me curious.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos What’s the status on the battery drain reports? I’ve read some comments that it might be Bluetooth pairing with some specific devices, like the Polar H10, and others that different watch faces can affect battery drain differently. Before this update, I was seeing ~20% drain per day.

For @miroslava :

I have only city names (Race 2) no pizza icon, pharmacy, bus, parking etc icons. You enabled it somehow? I checked map options and I dont see anything.
