Suunto please pull your finger out. My daughters Casio shows her the tides. Why can’t you?

this is being asked since a couple of years.

Suunto Nautic has it and from a presentation I saw somewhere it looks like Ocean will get it too.

We only need a tide watch, nothing fancy, just put max and low tide and it calculated by self, like the old casios

I would like times for high and low water plus heights based on the nearest reference port and a tide graph. For example I know I can navigate a particular channel when the depth of water at Mallaig is 3.3m or more. The channel isn’t at Mallaig but that’s the reference port I use for this location and the depth at a particular time is more useful than the actual time of HW (or the time of HW locally because a neap tide may not reach the required height, even at HW) If I have times and depths of high and low water I can work it out manually from that but a graph makes life easier.
I’m a sea kayaker as well as a runner and this information would be helpful. However in a situation without phone coverage such as on a multi day trip I’m not sure if the software could load or store and display advance predictions and if there was coverage it might be more efficient to view it from actual tide tables or on a smart phone. Or simply write it down in advance on a bit of paper! There’s a lot more to it than just high and low water times but they are a starting point from which other calculations can be made using other data (which I’m pretty sure couldn’t be on a watch) and are useful locally for planning launch and recovery.

Suuuuuunto. What’s the point in you updating the swimrun exercise when I can’t look at tide times?!

Yes I can use an app on my phone, or go on the internet, or even read a book. BUT I want this on my RACE S. I really don’t know why it’s so complicated.

Please suunto give us a TIDE watchface for all smartwatches. I don’t want to leave the suunto family but it seems I have to switch to Garmin or Coros.

@Sunday just because of Tide watch face? You really have to not like Suunto 🙂 Also I am not sure if Coros has tide watch face also 😉

@aiv4r Coros has the TIDE watchface. Garmin as well. If you are a multi sport user you need the TIDE info. Suunto included the sport mode “surf”, thank you. But you need to know the tide as well for you surf spot when you are out there in the line up.

I like the small form factors to surf, do you think it’ll be a thing on a small suunto watch ?

@Sunday the Race 2 does not feel that much bigger than the Race S. It felt smaller than the 47mm Garmin Epix Pro as I tried it in person.

@2b2bff The problem is the 12mm against 11mm.

@Kowalski I’m waiting for a successor of the Race S as well, decided not to go with the Race 2. But it felt surprisingly small for its size…
