Suunto Software update Q2 (2.56.18) - July 14th, 2026 - Vertical 2 and Race 2
-
@SamppaP no one, the official statement from Suunto is that Vertical, Race, and Race S are still supported and will get updates in the future.
-
@isazi I know, just tired of everyone complaining about V1 not supported
Itās really clear from Suunto that 9pp will not receive updates. -
@Alejandro-PƩrez-Beneyto who has said they stopped updating the V1? Have I missed something?
Have you received any Q1 or Q2?

There you go -
@thailon the only information I can share is that Vertical, Race, and Race S are not included in this Q2 update as Suunto is still assessing the scope and timing of next update. Further communication from Suunto will come when a decision is taken.

As far as Iām concerned, I think Race S is already complete as it is and, to be honest, I really couldnāt think of anything else I could ask for. Bug fixes are, ofc, always welcome

@egika I use suunto Race S
the sensor connection does not work well, agreed here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/15082/race-2.53.42-unreliable-connection-to-suunto-bike-sensor/4

Thanks for update. Maps looks amazing, tide app is welcomed too but i will probably get possibility to test it somewhere next year, please share some screenshots how it looks like. Thanks.
I see only this:

Since i live 800km from sea, should be displaying some info like data not available for your location instead of āupdatingā, is this bug?
Btw i already synced multiple times. No change.

Iād like to have the HR broadcast āmemoryā that this update provides on my Race S, as well as improvements to maps; also, from last year, vertical oscillation and ground contact time were added to Race 2 and Vertical 2 and Iād appreciate those on Race S as well.

Looks like this:

Plus you can add tides as complications to the watch face

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos and for Vertical 1 ?
I know it canāt be the same update due to hardware limitations, but at least:- Tides widget
- HR Recovery
And please, restore solar harvesting that was reduced to minimum harvest when Vertical 2 was introduced.
-
I dont know why so many people complain thereās nothing new in this update. I find out street label as a huge step, one of hugest for last months (for Suunto at least, competition already have long time).
I just recommend to use dark mode. If someone use bright, labels are barely visible, even with nose on watch

@VoiGAS When someone gets ill we postpone the development. Thats why we release quarterly updates
I bet the development also stops during lunchtime! The scandal!!

I have HR recovery on my race s and it isnāt that good. It only records hr recovery at the end of an activity. If you do interval training you want hr recovery after each interval, but that isnāt recorded. At the end might be after cooling down and then it isnāt saying anything. If HR recovery would recognize the rest between intervals it would be useful.
Tides I donāt understand. Itās static data and you can look it up years in advanced. If you go on a trail and one passage is only accessible on low tide, you plan in advance and donāt look at your watch just before the passage. But I guess thatās me.

@elbee many users are Happy to have the new Tide Widget like me, but like every Update some people are frustrated with new things⦠If someone find the new Tide Widget not good enough than dont use it! Thank you SUUNTO for this great Update š¤©š¤©š¤©

I know people prefer a watch with 1001 features over a watch with 1000 features.

The āif you donāt need it, donāt use itā is too simple. Suunto developers spend time on it that they canāt spend on other things. If they didnāt fix bugs that bother me because they added a feature I donāt use⦠(or in my case, delayed the firmware update (with bugfixes) for my race s)

@safari Same problem here. Testet on Hike,Trailrunning, Running. This Option is not visible.
