Suunto Software Update Q2 Hotfix 2.56.28 Race 2 and Vertical 2
-
Vertical2, after last update no possibility to download or delete maps … 🫣🫣🫣 restart watch or change WiFi did not solve the problem
-
@9ppuser this has most likely nothing to do with the update (even more so as it occurs also with previous version).
I would look somewhere in the network setup…
You can also use your phone hotspot to check if the watch can connect to a Wifi -
@Egika Thanks for your message. I thought it might be related to the update. I tried connecting via hotspot, but it didn’t work. The watch can’t connect, even though the app shows it’s connected. I’ll try resetting the watch; maybe that will fix the problem

-
@Egika It’s definitely related to the update—I haven’t made any changes to the Wi-Fi or router settings, and both the V2 and R2 watches are showing the exact same error!
-
@UjcoCZ Just tried deleting Sardinia map and my watch is asking to connect to WiFi for downloading map. Why, if I want to just delete the map??? Nothing changed after enabling WiFi on watch. So tried to delete WiFi from my watch and enter it again. Nothing helped. I got message that watch can´t connect to WiFi.

Same problem here.
Map download was fine before the update. Systemic error message “Failed to connect to wireless network” since the update.
The update is the only change in my setup. It is definitively related…
Is a fix already in motion ?

@HonzaS @egika There is a own thread for this now, this seems to affect a lot of people and I opened a ticket. It was working for me also until the FW update, I tried a lot of things including an open AP, no connection possible from watch anymore.

Please also open a ticket at Suunto support.

Count me in. Currently in Croatia and trying to download a map, cannot connect to wireless network even though I have added the network successfully. Might not be related to the update but was never an issue before the update.
-
wifi connection is not related to this FW, it also happens with other versions. I have opened a ticket with Suunto for this one.

FWIW - my issue missed call notifications issue seems to be resolved with this fix.
Prior to fix I could basically on demand cause a restart by receiving phone call notification on my watch.
Last two trail runs, I’ve tried both missing calls and receiving calls and both times no issue.
Also - by far the best trail running tracks I’ve ever had on my last trail run

Does anyone feel like the battery is draining slower after the update? Maybe it’s just a different algorithm for battery status, but my percentages are definitely decreasing slower.

My battery was 13% and after turning on screen flashlight (Race 2) it jumped to 2% with info that battery is low. After watch reset it jumped back to 13%. I’ve tried to turn flashlight again and it again jumped to 2% so… weird things happens

@Tami999 your estimate running a flashlight will be lower than the estimate when the flashlight is off

your estimate running a flashlight will be lower than the estimate when the flashlight is off
If it was showing remaining time, I’m with you. But battery percentages are not equivalent to time…

Battery percentages are calculated, based on the voltage the battery can deliver. If the flashlight is on, voltage will drop. If the flashlight is turned off again, voltage will rise. Hence the jump in percentage.
(Based on observations of my camper battery. If the refrigerator turns on, the voltage drops. If the fridge turns of again, voltage increases)
