Maps Partial Update Rollout, October 2026 [Limited Countries - Atlantic Fix]
-
We are rolling out an update to fix regions which had elevation contour lines missing since previous update or ever.
Those are non-Europe regions within the border of red rectangle below:

The list of updated regions:
See the map of updated regions (dark green):

* Madeira and Azores always had elevation contour lines missing. With this update we fixed that as well as separated autonomous Portugal regions from continental part. Users have to manually redownload needed portugal regions
Update instructions and known issues
Update requires confirmation in mobile app. Open “Offline Maps” in mobile app “Library”, select map region and click “Update” button. Then confirm update on the watch or (better) put watch on charger. Don’t forget that watch should have WiFi network set up. Wait for update and check maps. Restart the watch in case you still don’t see elevation contour lines, map can be cached.
Known issue: observed that at least on Android pressing “Update” button may not start the update properly. In this case you may try first delete the map, put watch on charger and then download it again. To be improved.
Additional notes
- Both watch and mobile app maps for listed regions are updated
- There are some POI changes compared to previous release
- Waste baskets were removed from data per user requests
- Toilets fixed, used to be missing (May not be visible on the watch at the moment)
- Attractions/viewpoints added (May not be visible on the watch at the moment)

@pavel.samokha Thank you for good news. A bit offtopic - are issues mentioned in https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14979/double-blue-lines-on-map on the roadmap too? Blue (and white) lines are not only in Czech Republic, but they seems to go to Austria and Poland too. (Feel free to delete / move my question, I just wanted ask once we have active topic about maps update.) Thanks!

@Dusan-Holub those artifacts are known issue, but I cannot say yet when we can fix those

Is there an ETA for the more “contoured” states like the Carolinas and Tennessee where the Appalachian Mountains are? Seems to me like the states and regions that were released are fairly flat.
-
@Stavrogin Looks like they’re going in alphabetical order, and pretty quickly at that. I’d imagine they’ll have all the states up within the next day or two. Just guessing.
-
@duffman19 That list has changed since the last post earlier today. Originally Georgia through Maine were not on there. Hope you are right.
-
All affected US regions are now updated
-
@pavel.samokha Thanks it was a happy surprise today
-
2 watches updated and can confirm fix for Pennsylvania!
-
Almost all affected regions were updated, with the following exceptions:
- South-east caribbean islands (still missing elevation data)
- Bermuda (still missing elevation data)
- Colombia (size limits, need to split it)
