      No Problem (I think). These runs look ok, especially the first were you also had some altitude to manage. Maybe, if the other guys did wake up here in Europe, you’ll get some better answers 😉

        Is your rest HR setup correctly in the watch?

        Also, are you HR zones and max HR are setup in the watch in addition to Movescount? I am pretty sure Spartan and newer Suunto watches don’t use HR zones from Movescount. Instead HR zones must be setup directly on the watch (which I personally think was a bad design decision).

          My rest HR is set to 60, which I feel is correct unless there’s a way to test it lol.

          I also set everything up on the watch before connecting it to the new Suunto app. I later connected it to movecount. So all the personal information and HR zones are all set up through the watch

            Another chech.:

            As far as you may know, there are default and advanced zones for running and cycling. So in these type of activities, advanced zones are used…

              I use the advanced zone to set up the specified HR zones I’ve posted above for all running sports. My normal HR zones for sports other than running are more like this:
              Zone 5: 90-100%
              4: 80-90%
              3: 70-80%
              2: 60-70%
              1: 60% and below.

              But so far I’m only using this watch for running. So it would only use the HR zones that I specified above.

                Sorry, don’t know what might be the issue. I don’t usually pay attention to Calories but I checked my last activity and the calorie estimate seems to be reasonable - 475 Cal for a 4.2 mile run with some elevation gain.

                  Today => 1:15h 13.5k 158HR(avg) -> 1200 calories (should be 900 -1000)

                  Same route (should be 600-700)
                  2019/09/13 => 0:52h 9k 158HR(avg) -> 830 cal
                  2019/08/20 => 0:49h 9k 149HR(avg) -> 694 cal
                  2019/07/22 => 0:52h 9k 149HR(avg) -> 755 cal
                  2019/07/17 => 0:47h 9k 158HR(avg) -> 761 cal
                  2019/06/15 => 0:50h 9k 168HR(avg) -> 917 cal

                  Perhaps I’m in the same case (not so big difference) and didn’t realize 😞

                    BTW, weather here in north of Spain is a bit crazy and training in different hours… it’s difficult (for me) to mantain avg HR for same route

                        I just didn’t know if other people were having the same problem. Is Suunto even working on fixing this problem? Or is this just normal and I have to deal with it (I just divide the calories burned in half and that gives me a more reasonable number)

                        I agree with @zhang965, @silentvoyager those numbers don’t seem right. Like it’s the opposite of what I’m going through. That’s about my average calories burned for a 2-3 mile run, but my watch would show me that I burned 800+ calories for that. That’s really weird.

                          Hi perhaps this helps.

                          The workout summary contains the BMR calories.

                          So for example my bmr is 1700kcal so 1 hour is ~70kcal.

                          Any workout at any intensity i would do for 1h i would have 70kcal included.

                          So from the other app data you should remove the BMR

                                Calorie burn depends on weight, pace, surface, weather, elevation gain etc.

                                That was a trail run with about 360 ft (110 meters) of elevation gain which required extra energy, plus you might be lighter than me.

                                But whatever, I don’t actually care.

                                      I’m still confused by what I’m seeing. I checked how much my BMR is. The watch tells me for my body metrics that my BMR is 1944 calories per day. Which comes out to 81 calories per hour. But if I take away that hourly BMR from my workouts, it’s not enough.

                                      I’m looking at the two photos of the watch showing the calories burned in the workout vs. what it says is day active calories. I still don’t know what math should be done to figure out exactly how many calories you burned for your workout. It’s super confusing.

                                        Hi,

                                        My BMR is 1616, so ~67 cals/h
                                        I started at 9:30AM, and run for 1:30h (9:30 - 11:00) => so there are 100 basal calories + 1311 active calories

                                        So, at 11:00 I have burnt (2048 calories):

                                        • Active calories: 1311
                                        • Basal calories: 737 (67*11)

                                        Think that these are not exact numbers…, photos were taken at 11:35AM, and workout was about 1:33:41

                                        Makes sense to you?

                                          Ok, I think I might know what the problem is. I can’t figure out the math, but I think it’s similar to how MyFitnesspal counts calories for steps taken along with your workout calories (which includes some of those steps taken). Basically it counts double calories. Anyone else thinks it might do this?
