@brad_olwin I’m convinced that Suunto 3 will have support for footpods like Stryd, Milestone or Runscribe and any that have bluetooth 4.x. And will permit that you can save the route having it paired with the smartphone. It will make sense for occasional activities.
-
@luís-pinto looks like it. From what I read around.
-
Yes, it will be great if it’s compatible to footpod.
Or, it can use the gps of the phone like the Polar A370. -
@brad_olwin Suunto 3 Fitness will be launch at April 4th and will include NFC payments later: http://www.suunto.com/News/bpay-and-suunto-partner-to-meet-growing-demand-for-contactless-payment-timepieces/

@luís-pinto and as usual Suunto partners with a strong actor of the market
-
Those pics you can see on the DCRainmaker page from the software, is this a complete new one? Only available right now on the coming S3F? So, when S3F is launched, there may be a firmware update for Spartan similar to this?
-
@jthomi I can’t anwser to that, because i simple don’t know.
-
I guess nobody knows here, and the ones that know won’t tell us!
-
@jthomi yes, i’m more interest to see features. If it will be on 4th April or 17th is less relevant.
-
@luís-pinto Thats right, looking forward to the release, and since there are 4 updates in a year, every 3 months, there could be a new firmware just around the corner!
-
@jthomi there should be FW update as April is quarter after last upgrade.
-
@slashas And in yours opinion which will be the new features of next FW?
-
@luís-pinto only Suunto knows.
As @slashas said should be this quarter.
Be patient and you will have the pleasure to discover the new features soon -
Strange they remove that Suunto 3 will be launched at 4th April… Now they say “Suunto 3 Fitness will be launched globally later this spring”. So it means that can be launched in June. Personally i don’t care. Delays with Suunto App and NFC pay?
-
My watch is working well for what I need. As I transition into more ultramarathon training for this summer I would like to have structured workouts implemented. That is the sole major upgrade I think a lot of folks are looking for…and my wish is that Suunto sneaks in power functionality that looks just like HR, so we can use our zone screens for either power or HR, depending on the sport. One other minor thing is to get the waypoints implemented with names. With that I would not need any other updates.

@brad_olwin Globally agree! Just adding one more point, support for Galileo. But related with S3 it is very strange this change of plans or maybe an error with first publication…
-
Finally Informatin is out, they will start sending in 25th of April

As a curiosity they are showing Suunto App as the app companion of the watch

Yep. The S3F will only be used with the S3F. Perhaps that will explain now why some features are stalling for the big Spartans.

And it has connected GPS
