@dimitrios-kanellopoulos true! I didn’t think about making that change recently.
-
@stefan-kersting WTH!!! I cannot even have the glass of water…
-
@freeheeler You are not Since the last update I saw that battery is draining. On if the reason(at least in my case) could be raise to wake feature which turns on on wrist movement without my intention to look at watch
-
@egika Thanks!!!
-
Hi all. We have discussed this quite a couple of times and after each update the same question rises: battery life.
Due to the update procedure that wipes the battery calibration , you might think that battery lasts less in daily mode.
Just let the watch drain the battery and charge it full.
-
Just updated S9 to 2.18.20. Unfortunately the update process reported errors and eventually reset the watch to factory defaults so I had to set it up from scratch. Is this expected? It did not happen with any of the previous updates.
-
@skydancer no it is not expected and should not happen.
-
@isazi Some users from Polish Suunto community reported this. I sent the logs to Suunto using the app, maybe they will be somehow useful to you.
-
@skydancer please send logs via suuntolink and give me the I’d. Also ask the other users.
-
@skydancer it happened to me as well. After 2nd unsuccessful Reset, I detached the watch and restarted it by pressing the upper button for 12s. Finally watch restarted with the latest software version 2.18.20.
However, watch unexpectedly switches on HR lights (without blinking, screen in watch mode). It happened to me 2 times already today. I solved it by moving to HR measurement and back -
@skydancer I had the same reset experience with my S9B for 2.18.18 as did another user, lost all my custom sports, fortunately it installed the hotfix 20.18.20 without restarting.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos
maybe the battery “cache” wipe can not be avoided… but sometimes this drain until completely empty needs to be planned…
luxury issue -
After update to 2.18.20 my watch randomly switches on HR leds (constant light) and then switches them off after while.
I would like to revert back to 2.18.18. Could somebody provide me with the software? -
-
@surfboomerang Thanx. Due to watch reset during sw update, my daily HR was turned on what causes such behaviour by design. I turned it off so the issue is solved.
-
Great update, i am very excited about white watch faces. I am very happy that media control can be disabled so it doesn’t pop up when not needed. Any chance for replies from iOS devices in future?
Just miss toggle mode for backlight. I really hoped suunto will bring back this option since it removed with last update and there was some feedback to bring it back.
-
@tomas5 I think iOS reply support won’t come. It is something with Apples policies.
Even Garmin doesn’t support fast reply with iOS -
Some inspiration how proper backlight settings can looks like. https://youtu.be/4V93hjP2eYk
Gesture (rise to wake) on/off/after sunset
Buttons on/off/after sunset
Alerts-notifications on/off/after sunset
And regardless of settings possibility to enable backlight with upper left button. -

I had the same experience with my Suunto 9 with the 2.18.20. The *.20 Update forced a hard reset, deleted all custom sports, and additionalky now I somehow have a permanent background illumination of the watch, even a softreset did not work. So I activated energy saving, without any light. Far from perfect, but at least the battery might last longer. All in all it seems to be a nice update - and the Burner-option is the first Suunto Plus I have used. The permanent lighting is annoying.

@shrek3k did you check if you have standby light permanently on?
