@fof1618 Are you in the last firmware of the S9B?

I and others have had this issue long ago and was addressed with a firmware update. Not the last one, but some iterations before. So, if you aren’t in the last firmware, update your watch.

@fof1618 maybe just a stupid question from my side, but are you sure that you have Performance power mode set? To me it seems like Endurance or even Tour powermode is selected for you workout. Just a guess…

            Hi @zadow, actually it’s a good remark!
As I remember after I experienced the problem once, I set my battery mode to Performance (where display timeout is set to off) and then the problem did not happen during that training.
But for some reason my battery mode is always set to Custom by default. If I forget to update the display timeout to off instead of 10s or switch my battery mode to Performance before Start this black screen problem is back. Yet when the screen is off I should be able to wake up my watch, which unfortunately is not the case.
I forgot to mention that in my general settings, Standby is on and Raise to Wake is high.
How can I set my battery mode to Performance by default?
Also my FW version is v 2.26.8 (up-to-date)
Thanks in advance for you answers!

@fof1618 What I suspected with the other post about the Vertical.

Why even though my battery mode is set to Custom with a display timeout of 10s my screen doesn’t wake up ? This albeit having in my general settings, Standby on and Raise to Wake high.

@fof1618 performance is the default unless the Custom profile has different settings.

Hi @surfboomerang, I see… Suunto has implemented a tricky logic here… Not very user friendly in my opinion but anyway thx!
What remains is my second question: why even though my battery mode is set to Custom with a display timeout of 10s my screen doesn’t wake up ? This albeit having in my general settings, Standby on and Raise to Wake high.

@fof1618 My guess is that the raise to wake option only affects the backlight. Not the display timeout

So if one update the Custom battery mode by changing any setting, it becomes the default one.
In particular if the display timeout is changed to 10s, the watch screen will eventually remain black at some point during the exercise and until the end of the exercise.
There is definitely a bug to reproduce and analyze for Suunto here.
Hopefully someone from Support will read this.

Push middle button and screen should wake up for few seconds and then goes back black again.
It is a battery saving option, and it remains in custom battery option.
