      One of the main data for freediver is last dive time. It is nessessary to calculate your surface time. Now we have to move to other screens to see it. Please in next update add it in bottom data field.

        And, one more thing. Maybe somebody wrote about it, but. It would be nice if underwater computer switches autoumatically in last diving mode when it is submurged. Now I have to switch freediving each time I go to the water. If I forget to do it , I have to cancel scuba diving mode, it takes time while I have to work with my students already.

        As for application. I want to analize each dive and see the data of each: speed, dive time, surface time, temperature and etc.

            I know that steps and step counter is not crucial in a sports watch and step counter in Ocean from the last update is much better but that screen Steps for the last 7 days is completely wrong. Is that really that hard to calculate and give correct information 🙂

              Guys I do have one strange bug. For example time of sunset in my location is 8:30 PM. While freediving in freedive mode it shows that time of sunset is different and much much different like 1:30 PM. GPS works and shows location correctly while i’m in water .

              What can be wrong ?

                @Maximfreediver

                I believe that is the time remaining to sunset. So in your example you would have 1 hour 30 minutes till the sun set.

                    @Ben-Woodard said in Suunto Ocean general discussion:

                    My absolute biggest complaint is that the firmware shuts off the display during workouts to prevent burn in and to save power. To me this is false economy and really is inconvenient. The two places where this is extremely annoying is when I’m doing some sort of timed workout like streching I have an interval set for holding an exercise for 30s or a minute and the display cuts out and I don’t know how much time I have. The other place where this makes the watch practically useless is when I want to do bike ride and have the watch on the handlebars. The display cuts off I can’t just glance down to see how fast I’m going, what my HR is. This is just broken behaviour. The display shouldat least have the option to stay on when exercising.

                    Oct 2025:

                    Lookin’ @ a new Suunto Ocean – as an activity-tracking device & SCUBA dive computer:

                    (Should record runs, bike rides etc. & sync data OK with Strava, seems to offer more detailed activity features I may delve into. Certainly would use it SCUBA diving of course.)

                    One concern is bright, always-on-display during bike mode – I’ll likely want to mount it on the bike handlebar (via an attachment) & have it always-on so I can track & see the distance ridden easily. Web searches indicate this may not be so easy in bike mode, there may have been a firmware upgrade that improved it, but unsure.

                    Does anyone have recent experience with this?

                      @deserthike20 Where does one find the tide complication? Or is this a feature that was removed in an update?

                        @Kevin-Major where did you get the information, that a tide complication ever existed?

                          @Kevin-Major There is no tide complication. Apparently the new dive computers will have this. I do not know whether the Ocean will get tide information or not.
