Today there was the firmware update 2.3.22 for the Suunto 3 Fitness. Unfortunately, the speed is still not given correctly (up to 360 km/h) and altitude information is not recorded. What changed positively, I can explore later. A changelog is still missing.
Oh Suunto, what are you doing ☹ ☹

@Armin-S Now on Suunto webpage there’s is a very short info: “This release brings wrist heart rate improvements while walking and general stability enhancements.”
No wonder that all the other annoying bugs (altitude, speed, sleep tracking) still exist ☠

Hi, the speed comes solely from the GPS of your mobile device ?
Can you tell me the device info?

@Armin-S I opened a bug for this. It should be filtered but really this is more of a phone issue. However its suunto responsibility to put a filter there

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Yes - it’s not the phone! I recently recorded a track in parallel with Endomondo and my Suunto S3F, Here are the pictures of speed and altitude for both:

Complement: 2 months ago I had already requested the service. The answer was: “We are already aware of these speed jumps (and also the wrong altitude in the app) and we are working on it, but there is no good explanation for the faulty sleep monitoring …” Unfortunately, so far with the correction of the firmware nothing happens ☹ My S3F was replaced, the problems remained!

@SlaSh Therefore Suunto filters all the data of altitude 😬

@Armin-S I think it is turned off as altitude readings are incorrect as well, as starting point is always 0m/ft so you always end up with incorrect ascent values.

You should be now able to use customized sport modes for your S3F.
Use the latest beta of the Suunto app and you are good to go.

You will find the sport mode customization under the options on the watch view.

I can confirm, this actually unlocks some metrics for swimming(SWOLF, strokes, etc) and probably other stuff. You can customize the screens during the workout and add multiple screens/displays.

Well worth the beta enrollment, given that it doesn’t break MC sync and other stuff that people complain about.

                            S3F syncs with MC?
