Can't control music with my Suunto Race S

Hello everyone!
I’m unable to control music playing on my phone (on Spotify), buttons are all greyed up and the only thing I can do I see the song title
.
Can someone help?

@Cinzia-Araosta What OS? and phone?

@Cinzia-Araosta mine does this a lot. Restarting the phone normally resolved it for a few days. Then it happens again.
I’m on Android with the Vertical.

Race S, Google Pixel 6, Android 15
Only a restart of the phone resolves the problem.

@Cinzia-Araosta check the permissions under the Suunto app. (system Settings -> Apps -> Suunto -> Permissions -> and make sure “Music and audio” is under “Allowed”.

Happens to me sometimes as well, Permissions are allowed too. Can be frustrating sometimes

Yes! In my case, deny permission, open/close app and allow permission again, was the solution.

Can someone help?I had similar situations with my S9PP and 1+8T (android 14).
Stopping SA in the phone settings and opening SA again helped.

I have the same problem on my 9PP !
I’m on an Asus Zenfone 9 - Android 15 & latest Suunto App, and i gave all pemissions to the app and disabled “battery optimization”.And even if the sound is playing while I have the suunto App open, the controls are greyed out, i also need to force close the app and re-open to get back the controls.
I think (i’m not sure) that i have the problem since Android 15 update

the screen rounded on the corners, and where is the stainless steel bezel and buttons/crown?

A bunch of restarts (phone, app, permissions…) seems to work for a while. When it’s not working anymore, restart of everything again.
Not ideal, should be investigated more.

@Cinzia-Araosta I have the same problem, really frustrating how many bugs and problems this watch has. I’ve never been able to use the music at all. Could someone explain do I have to do this in app or iPhone’s settings??

@emilia_v What bugs and problems are so frustrating? It is likely a phone issue with the music. What phone do you have? What OS and what version? What version of SA are you using? I have an iPhone on the beta version and music works perfectly with the Suunto S. I doubt this is a watch issue.

@Brad_Olwin if you search your will see this is reported with various watches phones and operating systems.
A phone restart normally works for me, lasts a few days then watch stops controlling the music. It shows you what is playing but nothing else works.
I think as it is so broad an issue it probably is watch related.
I gave up months ago trying to get it to work and just use my phone…
For the record. Android. Pixel 6a. Vertical.
Just listening to music now. Everything is greyed out

@Audaxjoe since iPhones seem to work with no issues whatsoever, I would argue it is phone firmware and possibly hard ware.
