suunto race s heart rate issue
-
@erik_ibk would you be so kind to share with us info about following items:
- Software version on you race S?
- Version of model number and hardware version?
- Where is manufactured, made in Finland or made in China?
Thank you a lot

@erik_ibk The “made-in-China” reason has just lost the race.

@erik_ibk if is not to much for you to send us info. Did you experience wifi connectivity issue on watch? How old is your watch race S? Did you make wifi connection before update to sw version 2.39.20 or initial/first wifi setup was after update 2.39.20. Please check your full hardware list info at this according this topic https://forum.suunto.com/topic/12335/suunto-race-s-wifi-problem-after-update-2-39-20/71
Did you try as workaround to revert back to previous software version on watch using hidden menu as proposal from suunto support?
Once more thank you for your effort and helping us to find out common issue.

suunto race s heart rate problems.
My Suunto no longer records my heart rate, sleep score and so on. It is all set up correctly. Resetting to factory settings only worked for a few hours, after which the same problem occurred. No green lights!! The settings are all correct. With a chest strap, the heart rate recording is fine.
I need help.
Thanks ErikHi.
Same here!
Firmware 2.39.20 and about 1 month experience.
HR sensor was turned off (no green light) and sleep cycle not tracked at all. -
Me too, race s with latest firmware. I need to power off and on about once a week

Hi, I’ve the same issue. I’ve a Suunto Race. Everything is perfect except the heart rate measurement.
Not reliable at all.
I’ve already resetted the factory setings without any improvement.
For instance, last training : 1st hour was perfect around 130 bpm, then the last 3 hours were at 180 bpm which is not possible! same pace rate.
I need help
Thanks

@YannH Suunto OHR does not work well for me either running or SkiMo. I use a belt. OHR varies for individuals. Even my Apple Watch does not work well for running intervals.
For sleeping 24/7 day use the OHR is great for me.

@YannH If you notice your BPM reading getting funky, what you can do is stop running for 1 minute, usually your HR goes much lower and “external noises” (like the bumps from running) are non existent, which allows the HR sensor to lock again on the correct beat.
Also, pay attention to the watch placement for optimal HR :
- Place the watch on the “meatier” parts of your wrist (ideally at least one cm before your wirst bone)
- wear it tight enough so that there is no movement
- Make sure you are warm on your wrist, with gloves and stuff, because the cold weather makes your blood vessels constrict on the limb extremities where its not needed, thus make it much harder to read

The HR recording on my RaceS stopped yesterday. I didn’t get any sleep score this morning but kind of thought it was just an oddity and didn’t notice the lack of green light but I noticed after my yoga session that there was no HR data and then noticed I was also missing HR data all day.
Checking back in the app, it looks like HR stopped being recorded after I partially charged the watch from 14% to 74% yesterday about 10am. My run yesterday was was fine because I use a belt but the rest of the data is missing.
I rebooted the watch and HR is back but I noticed the watch face, while the correct style, had reset its complications and highlight colour. I just thought it worth mentioning that in case it was an indication of a corrupt config file or something.
I am on the latest firmware and I’ve not had this issue before.
