    Suunto Team,

I have been using my Suunto Race for some months now. Overall, I’m very pleased with the race, especially the great display, surprisingly long-lasting battery, GPS precision, etc. There is one glaring omission, though, that could be easily fixed, I suppose. As this feature obviously hasn’t been included in the new app version which was installed yesterday (Android; 4.107.3) and the new software on my Race (2.39.44) which arrived today, another appeal here in the global feature request category.

The Race and the 9 Peak Pros of my sons have a predefined Triathlon mode, including transitions. That’s fine, but using the watch for other multisport activities is awkward, to say the least. To start the next activity, you have to fumble with the watch, trying to find the correct activity on the screen and then start it correctly, all while trying to concentrate on the ongoing activity. Furthermore, there are no transitions, which is a nuisance when competing in an offical event.

On top, this “fumbling around with the watch while competing” is outright dangerous, which I experienced during a recent Duathlon I participated in. It’s just not possible to get the running mode started while trying to get off the bike and not be a road block to competitors coming in behind you, at the same time. Did I mention that you lose transitions this way?

Come on, Suunto! It cannot be so hard to either provide pre-defined modes for further common multisport activities like e.g. Duathlon, Swim-Run / Aquathlon, and Aquabike, or to provide a configuration option with which users can set up their own multisport modes. Both options should be feasible, as the Race has more than enough memory and processor power, and it should be no problem for “lesser” watches like the 9 Peak Pro, either.

The missing multisport modes or config options is the one thing that I really miss on the Race, coming from a Garmin Fenix 6, which I got rid of because of buggy firmware, poor sensor precision (especially GPS) and bad battery life.

@brettacher I agree, the triathlon sport mode should be customizable, as the current multisport mode is not really a substitute of native triathlon/duathlon activities.
As you have noticed, the multisport mode is a way to do more sports in a single recording, such as biking somewhere, have a run, and biking back.

@isazi is it an App problem?
During the transition phase when two services were running, App and movescount , it was possible to create custom tri mode in movescount.
