Just upgraded from a traverse. One of the handiest features on the traverse is the backlight flashlight function. Any chance this can come to the Suunto9?

@Wigspotter Features like this one can be requested, the more votes these requests from this forum (and from our other customer insights channels) the better the chances for the feature to be added. I personally like the Traverse flashlight too 🙂 also liked the red option in the Alpha version.

It’d need to be accessible with just buttons (not menu). Maybe it could be simultaneously pressing the top and bottom buttons?

Would need to be able to override sleep & DND mode without ending them.

Sorry to revive this dead thread 😄 But I had to share this with you, guys.

Yesterday there was a powercut when I was at work in the underground (no windows), I just had my watch with me.

Naturally, the first thing I tried to get an improvised flashlight was turning on the backlight of my watch. But that was of no use - even at the highest brightness and with white background, the intensity is just not good enough…

The way to go is quite different! Consider this as a life-hack 😅 In these situations, you just take the watch off your wrist and activate the optical HR measurement. The optical HR sensor LEDs are much brighter than any “backlight flashlight”! 😎 Their flashing is slightly annoying, but better than nothing in such situations…

            SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!
