Suunto Run + New Strap
-
It is strange that the battery lifetime in Watch Mode is better than Race S.
So its a lot lighter, 100€ cheaper, comparable battery lifetime overall, music, running dynamics, Metronome, Marathon prediction during Run, Trackmode
Missing Offline Maps, external power meter and Zonesense
Missing Suunto Apps is neutral, because some features are integrated native in exchange
There seems to be some tendency at Suunto models. The Race was a great deal compared to vertical, then came the Race S 100€ cheaper than Race (with similar or better specs) and now the Run (with similar or better specs). What happens next?

As someone who is using TrainAsOne for workouts, Suunto Plus Apps are essential for me…
-
@2b2bff I understand, but native NGP and Nutrition Reminder or something else could be for others… but maybe its more a disadvantage, I agree on that

About straps… 2/4 colors plus one new limited silicone strap.
No prices, cannot buy so far. I hope soon - really soon. Maybe next week -
What about the exhale feature on the screen?

It’s for breath training, meditation, something like that. New Suunto Run feature.

@AntoniusGaius I really hope that Suunto will test new SW on Run watches this summer, then integrate S+ into it (fall25…) and then will make a big rollout for Race/S/Vertical/etc (winter25
).
-
@Alonzo I don’t think that S+ will make it into Suunto Run.
As briefly mentioned before, many of the essential S+ functions are baked into Run’s firmware.
There is Ghost Runner, eat and drink reminders, a reminder to turn around and go back based on time or distance, metronome, additional running metrics etc. -
@Egika fair enough. It would anyway be great to have new OS hopefully with current bug fixes and new features together with S+ on Race/Vertical, wouldn’t it?
-
@Alonzo right!
Me personally, I won’t like the different UX on the current watches, but definitely some of the new features. At least for track running we know it is coming. -
@Egika +1 ! I’m impatient so see structured workouts improvement to come out to SRs/SV/S9pp
-
@Tieutieu right!
And the small-font-full-of-information screen of Run will most likely also be reworked during summer -

Hi all,
my new journey with Suunto starts here, with a Run (no pun intended
).
After using a Coros Pace 3 for many months, I decided that my wrist would no longer tolerate bulky and heavy watches and since I missed Suunto (I have used a few in years past) I decided to give up the Coros to a friend and purchase the Run.
I can’t say anything (yet) about performance, but I am certainly very pleased with how it is assembled and it doesn’t look cheap at all! As soon as I put it on it received an update, more specifically v. 3.18.44. As mentioned in another thread, I now hope Suunto will consider adding rt DDFA (although in app processing is fine with me).Update, some further thoughts after 3 days of use:
- The last Suunto used was a 9 Peak in which the WHR was a bit poor. The Run was a nice surprise, almost in line with my Polar H10 (1/2 beat off at worst) and I am not a WHR guy.
- GPS: Suunto way works very well, as expected, so top-noch as usual.
- UX/UI: being used to Coros way I didn’t find much difference, very smooth and fast, no hiccups.
- I start using the player (it’s there and why not?) and it’s super solid. No problem with music + bt earbuds + bt chest strap during a 2 hour workout.
- light, freaking light!
- it is now possible to pair multiple devices of the same type, finally!
- no troubles or issues found with sleep/hrv/etc so far
I plan to use it soon for my summer trails, where I think it can do its job very well and I think up to 50k is ok, I wouldn’t push it beyond that.
That said, in my humble opinion, it is a great product and I hope it finds its well-deserved place on many wrists. Think twice before buying it and then complaining because it obviously has its limitations (battery, ruggedness, etc.).
I have no idea what Suunto’s plans are for this watch and what new features it will receive, but you know every more thing is a gift… -
@6iovanni what country do you live? In Germany the RUN WE can early Order at 3th of june.
