Bug? Suunto Race restart during activity with navigation

Good evening,
today I went for a 6km run with navigation on and after approx. 1km Race did a reboot. I could see the suunto logo and was back on my start screen. After starting the activiy again I could finish the session with navigation. It was the first time that happened to me.
My watch runs software version 2.40.38
Did someone else experience the same issue? Or does someone has an idea what that could be? Can I provide more information?

@Flamingo Hello, i recently had the same issue on a Race S, suddenly it was rebooting. Luckily my activity was recorded.

I got my Race about one year and half ago and it never rebooted by itself, too
I’m wondering if these reported random reboots could be caused by an accidental press of the upper button, or if at least some of them could be … -
@Stefano-M64 It is very unlikely that I pressed the button, because I had to check the navigation every couple of seconds. but who knows…

@brechtvb I just checked and the 600 meters were recorded and saved as well before the watch restart.

It was also the first time that happened to me. most of the time I run without navigation, this is why I added this detail here. But let’s see if it happens again the next days. If so I’ll reply here.

I experienced this once with Race after the last fw update during MTB activity. Not sure what caused it and I had several long activities after that (MTB and hiking) and it never happened again. I sent the logs after it happened. Hopefully it was just a one time glitch as Race was pretty reliable otherwise.

Happened to me once in 2 years with Vertical. I had S+ app enabled (Virtual UTMB), but no navigation. Not sure if related, but never used that app after, also no restarts.
