    New Suunto Vertical user - major sync/connection issues on Android

      Hi all,

      I purchased a Vertical Titanium Solar about a month ago.

      After some issues with setup (watch got stuck in an update loop and kept going into “service mode” then rebooting), and some Bluetooth connection issues, all worked OK for a few weeks.

      As of last week, I am having more major connection and syncing issues:

      1.) Watch frequently disconnects from app, app is stuck on “connecting” until phone is rebooted.
      2.) Very slow syncing to app, frequent failed syncs.
      3.) Routes I have saved in the app are not showing on the phone (even when “use in watch” slider on the app is checked).
      4.) Re-pairing often fails, sometimes passkey doesn’t display (even when watch has been unpaired in watch settings). Sometimes watch states “pairing successful” but the phone app continues to try to pair and doesn’t complete.

      I have tried turning Bluetooth off and on, unpairing/re-pairing watch, re-installing the app, re-booting phone, rebooting watch, and a hard reset of the watch.

      As things currently stand, I have managed to pair with the app - it has been “syncing” for about 30 minutes, and not doing anything!

      It feels like this might be an app issue but I’m not entirely sure…

      Phone - Pixel 6
      App version - android 5.3.7
      Watch OS - 2.43.12

      Any advice appreciated before I initiate a return!

        @jchapple1983 Have you tried connecting it to another device? Also have you tried connecting it to a computer?

          I have a Pixel 6a (with latest beta of Android) and a SVTS without problems of syncing. Make sure that the background usage is activated in the phone (inside app battery usage in the app info options) and that the option Manage app if unused is turned off.
