BT connectivity issues in latest FW
-
Hey,
just sharing my observations after the latest updates. I own both the Suunto Vertical and the Vertical 2. After the recent firmware update on the Vertical, I started having Bluetooth connectivity issues - both during activities and even before starting them. The HR belt and Stryd randomly disconnect and reconnect (you can hear the “chime” sound on the watch).Sometimes it’s impossible to start an activity with the Bluetooth accessories connected, because the watch just uses the optical HR and doesn’t even try to connect to the paired sensors. Turning airplane mode on and off usually brings everything back for a while.
Unfortunately, I’m seeing the exact same behavior on the Vertical 2. I’ve double-checked everything with my HR belts (brand new warranty-replaced HRM PRO+, both mine and my wife’s, and also an H10). From what I can tell, something in the new firmware broke how the watch handles multiple Bluetooth sensors - and that same issue seems to have made its way into the Vertical 2 firmware as well.
Anyone knows if Suunto is aware of this and working on a fix?

@Belial Hi, I have same issue with Race 2 and HRM 600. I confirm that this started happening with the last update. I tried removing the BT connection and re-pairing, which did not solve the problem and it still happens.

@smutnak
Yeah, it really looks like they’ve implemented some kind of new “solution” for BT pairing across the whole lineup- and it’s buggy everywhere.
