Enable the ability to count steps while an activity is paused.

I like cycling and hiking-- whenever possible, I take the opportunity to go on an adventure that combine the two. When the terrain becomes an impossible for a bike to overcome, the challenge of carrying it forward makes it all the more enjoyable. Sometimes it’s just nice hop off and take it slowly while enjoying the scenery. I love my Vertical 2, but it’s a bit frustrating that it can’t keep track of both sides these treks. If possible, I’d love to see this rectified.

Did you think about making this adventure a multisport activity?
Switch to hiking while not riding. -
i recognized that the steps dont count when you do an activity such as housework (Hausarbeit in German). Even if you start it outdoors and walk back and forth for kilometres in the back garden.
