      Hi everyone,

I’m pretty disappointed with my Suunto Ocean right now and wanted to ask if there are any other ways to get it working again.

My Ocean completely stopped working after three snorkeling sessions and one dive. It was still working when it was lying on the table, but when I put it on my wrist, the display went black and it wouldn’t respond to anything—no soft reset, no plugging it into the charger, nothing. The battery had been at a good 60% just before that.

I’m currently in the Maldives and wanted to do a few more dives, but now my dive computer is completely dead.

Are there any ways to bring this thing back to life? I’ve already left it on the charger overnight, but it didn’t help at all.

It’s all very, very frustrating. 😥

I thought I’d read somewhere that you’re supposed to press all three buttons for 12 seconds.

I’m curious to see if it works.

          Thanks for your reply.

The soft reset didn’t work either, as has already been described in another thread here on the forum.

I’m back from vacation now and tried plugging the Ocean into the charger again. And lo and behold, it’s charging again, but the battery was completely dead. In other words, the watch completely discharged over the two weeks it wasn’t working and that’s what brought it back to life.

Now, however, I have the problem that I’m definitely not going on a diving vacation with this watch anymore. I need a reliable watch, not one where I always have to worry that it’ll die again. If that happened during a dive, that would be the worst-case scenario.

I’m trying to return it to Amazon as a goodwill gesture. We’ll see…

Could there be any trouble with charger or cable?
Not powerful enough charger to wake it up?

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Amazon will come round.
I think it might be a manufacturing fault. You might get a replacement.
Other manufacturers have ‘Monday models’ too 😉
