Temperature reading wrong on Race 2
-
@Gunnar
Yes, it’s on my wrist.In the app the temperature displayed on the map (Mapbox) seem correct, on last nights run it says 7 deg C wich is normal here in Norway now.
The statistics however claims it was 21 deg C, I guess that is pulled from the watch. -
@baard it will never be accurate on your wrist. I am not sure why it’s even included 🫤

I am not sure why it’s even included
For me it is sometimes usefull, like when I go camping, I leave my watch attached to something outside and in 20 minutes I know the temperature

-
@danutz or in the office on the desk if you want to know if it is 30 or 32 degrees

Hi
The sensor temperature shown on my Race 2 is wrong by 6-10 degrees C.
I have tried restarting the watch but the error is still there.
Does anybody know of a solution for this?The sensor most likely is correctly measuring the temperature at the position of the sensor.
This is where ever it is located.
If on your wrist, it measures a mix between ambient and skin temperature.It is very useful to measure water temperature while swimming etc.
For a.reoort of the outside temperature please refer to the weather widget, or expose your watch to the outside (shade) for like 15-20min. Then the sensor will have the true ambient temp.

@Egika
Thank you, I guess it’s not very useful fur a runner then.
It just seems a bit daft when a run in winter weather displays a temperature as if it were run in the summer… -
@Egika If it reliably measures water temperature an ice bath sports mode would be a great addition
-
@baard I do not think that specific function is made for running. I will never work, since it is close to skin or under the layer of clothing.
I think the value comes to adventure types, where they can measure temperature inside/outside of the tent or smth similar, which makes way more sense than tracking temperature while running (also can be used for swimming as @egika mentioned).@mattg576 since when ice bathing is a sport?
Maybe we should get “watching TV” sport mode also
-
@aiv4r Great idea pal…
watching TV, ice bath & household chores could all sit in a new category,
“other ways to use my really expensive sports watch that isn’t just tracking sport”

-
@Mattg576 Actually I would like to have the opposite one: Sauna and other hot bath (onsen) / steam bath similarities, where the cardio system is in heat stress.
-
@baard it is as described in the users manual.
