      Hi everyone,

      I’d like to suggest a feature that I think would be very useful for diving: the ability to load a dive site map (or site plan) onto the Nautic and view it underwater.

      The Mares Genius already offers this: you can load dive site plans and display them during the dive. Some destinations even publish their site plans for this purpose.

      With its large AMOLED screen, the Nautic would be ideal for this. Currently, the land map disappears when the dive starts, and there’s no way to view the terrain or a site plan underwater.

      My suggestions:

      Allow importing an image (a hand-drawn plan or a photo of the site map) from the Suunto app, and linking it to a dive site or POI;
      Display this image during the dive, with zoom, and ideally oriented with the compass;
      Eventually, a database of dive site maps, supplied by Suunto, dive centers and users.

      On dive boats, briefings are almost always based on hand-drawn site plans. Being able to take them underwater would be a real plus for navigation and safety. The simplest and most valuable version would be: take a photo of the site map on the dive boat during the briefing, send it to the Nautic via the Suunto app over Bluetooth (no internet needed), and view it underwater. A shared database could come later.

      Is this something being considered? Would other divers be interested?

      Thanks!

      PS: I’d be happy to volunteer as a beta tester for this feature if needed.
