Hello all, I bought earlier this week a Suunto Race 2.

The watch is amazing but sleep tracking does not work (it detects period of activity as sleep - while other smart watches such as Garmin, Fitbit or Xiaomi dont).

I contacted online chat and they suggested I adjust the bedtime setting on the watch (there is no such thing on it AFAIK) and then I manually adjust the sleep start end end times in the app (I do not think this can be done).
After pointing out that their suggestion does not seem to work, they suggested I return the watch to Amazon and get another one.
      So I returned it.
Now, it seems that sleep tracking in general is an issue with the Race 2.
So will I have the same problem if I get a new watch from Amazon?
Thank you for your help - the Race 2 is very nice (may last watch was a Garmin Epix 2) but sleep tracking has to work…

Sleeptracking is rubbish on my race s. But on my previous garmin forerunner 965 it was also rubbish. Both conclude that I’m asleep while I was sitting on the couch watches tv. Suunto isn’t doing better or worse than other brands.

So called sleep tracking is nothing more than detecting you sit/lay still with low heartrate.

But it isn’t that useful anyway. You’re better off keeping a journal how you feel every morning. Do you feel refreshed or do you feel still sleepy. If feeling sleepy happens often adjust your sleep routine.

I just turned off sleep tracking. Less battery usage and the, for me, useless morning report is also disabled.
