April Transition Update
-
@Brad_Olwin I used openrunner. Probably tried for half an hour. Did not find a way to snap to roads, maybe there was but I was in a hurry.
And to make my point clear, openrunner may be better than MC but please think of the average user.
They need to know of openrunner (is it good for trails in Greece? Who knows…, then create a new account, learn how to use the website, export gpx, import to suunto watch.
Which of the above steps is not an added step that was not needed before?Not to mention that currently I can prepare a route and upload it to friends movescount accounts (I have their login info) without them having to do anything.
Let’s try to think about the average user hereAll this defense because of no web interface…

@Yannis-Belouris
You’re not using SA for routes, correct ? -
@someguythatruns ùyou can turn of the snap to road feature…
Works a charm. -
So we are now 16+ days into May.
Where is the May update? -
@almic This year, May has 31 days
-
The S9 limited ed. RedBull will be shipped the 23.
Perhaps the next firmware come with it?Or at the same time of the Sunnto 5 will be released.
-
@Mi_chael
redbull limited?
nice to know, for some reason i don’t notice a lot of suuntos marketing. -

@General_Witt
Update about services … not FW or SA update -
@Yannis-Belouris You’re right. It seems that Suunto is afraid of making a fool of himself because he can not develop a web in conditions and only relies on third party applications and websites.
And those of us who have trusted Suunto are still waiting for a good website while they launch Suunto 9 Special Edition RedBull.
It’s pretty shameful !!! -
Suunto is talking about some updates happening in Mai, see here:

@Nutet
I don’t want to move the redbull limited edition in the focus here… but I wonder how many people dare to buy it without knowing how the SA will evolve and if and how a web interface would look like?!
I am not as pessimistic with all these changes as I was when I first heard of it, to be honest. But I wonder who is buying a limited edition Suunto watch at the moment. It would either be real Suunto fans, but they know same as we do that there is no web interface existing. Or it’s gambling like on the stock exchange market… you buy one and hope SA and web interface will become top notch and you either keep it or it’s hopeless and you toss it in the bin…What I want to say: it is a real strange moment to release a limited watch. OR it is a strategic step

I think the best strategic step is to have the customers happy to have bought a product and listen to what they think of it to have them satisfied.
I’ve been a seller for many years and I think I know what I’m talking about.
Or I’m wrong??? -
@Nutet
yes it is no question that the customer pays a company.
A nice new watch attracts more customers. (Ok, I admit, I like the redbull design …it’s my favourite design after the A3 Peak Sapphire… ).
But if a new product has big disadvantages customers will think twice to buy it. In this case it is uncertain in which direction the web interface is heading to. If I buy a new Suunto today, I would want to know how the software for analysis looks.I’m pretty sure Suunto is working on that and will surprise us all with more updates.

@pescacebesforum Thanks! Captain Obvious.

went out running with some garmin runners, showed them the breadcrums and navigation, so happy i bought the suunto trainer, absolute bargain, slowly adapting to the app but i can see the effort the men and woman are putting into it, the sheer amount of updates they are putting out, keep up the good stuff!!!

I’m sorry to bump this older thread, I’m also a happily web-connected user of Ambit2. I’m open to app-based wireless, but for the moment i’m on a 300 dollar, fully functioning watch meeting my needs exactly. It’s May 20, I received and email about accounts, but I havn’t found anything about Ambit2. Have there been any developments?
-
@kidzapamp I dont have any news yet but I am also not updated. Just first day back to work after becoming a dad 8 days ago for the first time.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Gratz!
-
congratz Dimitrios, best wishes to the misses to, and hope you have some quite nights!
