Appfour = quality apps
-
@Brad_Olwin Very cool, thanks.
-
@pilleus FYI I could select from my pc to be installed on the watch and it did
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Now you are just teasing all of us who have to wait another 3 weeks. But yes, remote install is a fairly sweet feature on Android and by extension Wear.
-
@NickK
Iām glad Iām not the only one who canāt handle patience very well -
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I bought this one with several intstruments.

@Brad_Olwin
ā¦ yesssā¦ make me jealous being in boulderā¦I frequently see people wearing apple watches and also in the gym playing around with itā¦ I see a good market for thisā¦ but since I actually am an Ambit guy the S9 is already a big toy for myself.
I wont keep people from buying S7, but I donāt see this as a watch for me. I still have my A3PS but will give it to a friend of mine for testingā¦
I canāt handle 2 watches -

Now you see why I like this watch even though S9 is my go to for exercising. The WearOS opens up a bunch of opportunities for customization that were not there before
Hear, hear! You are preaching to the converted really! At least as @NickK is concerned
If only Suunto added external heart rateā¦ and a footpod. And intervals. And maybe sports modes customization Then this magnificent device would have gone from a daily driver and an occasional recovery training tool to something that covers upward of 80% of my training. Of course, you canāt make everyone happy. But you can try!
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Can you post a pic of the graphs it produces
-
I do believe this whole Wear OS thing works like a charm, with those shiny maps and all. But using Google is a big deal breaker for me. I just donāt want to share my data with them. And I hope the successor of Suunto9 wonāt have those features.
-
@Storz the chart is a non compressed full scale chart but not so good. If you dont have many variations that is
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Do you still have Locus Map on your Android? May you eventually try this app with S7?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asamm.locus.addon.wearTracking+HR+maps seem to be done one the phone, watch is only user interaction with app.
As almost all maps can be managed in locusmap, it could be something to be considered.
In this case, S7 wonāt be used for anything else than extra phone screen, but, for my case, I almost always have phone with me. -
Could one use the Suunto7 without a google account?
-
@jthomi I donāt think so. You can sort of disable Fit on the watch (canāt be uninstalled, only updates can, but you can remove permissions thus hosing it) and uninstall on the phone. But for the watch setup and apps you still need Google account and services.
-
@jthomi you can I think but many things will be dumbed down. The suunto things work without a google account afail. You could create though a āfakeā one
-
@Mff73 I have tried komoot and other apps like ghostracer that can connect to pods HR etc and all work fine.
Also today I found the heatmaps vs komoot (I use komoot) much better as I could see where people go in the wild.
Honestly I use both watches when I am in unknown territory from now on. S9 for the data etc and s7 for all the mapping + data + testing
-
Did you tried this? You have a device on hand?

@jthomi google fit is not working until you login with your google account (or an email coupled with a google account)
I dont use Google FIT and have deleted my data from there FYI
