Again, it’s in there – but that does require software be written around it and then software on apps and websites to support it as well.’ -

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Sleep tracking for me: I’m interested in the light/ deep/ REM sleep thing. I don’t get that at the moment on my Spartan, and it’s one area where the Vantage V really shines.

@wakarimasen got it. The s9 has no REM phase detection though. It only has deep/normal sleep classification.

" I have to say that some doubts that I have regarding the design are already erased from my mind. The watch in people wrist looks really nice and gorgeous. As @freeheeler says, I would like to hear comments about the buttons but I’m sure this has been properly tested.Seems that the barometer has a new position, in the video there where two holes under the Suunto logo, so now the holes will be in the internal side of the arms, so more difficult to block them with the arm movement.
Regarding the screens shown, besides the new watchface, that I like, nothing that we haven’t seen yet…but I’m sure Suunto is going to surprise us with something.

Maybe put it next to a loud speaker so it can measure the pressure changes (bass) and the light of the HR will blink in the rhythm of the music?

@wakarimasen Interesting, the datasheet states that the average current consumption is about 1.5 mA. You would think that would be low enough for 24x7 continuous HR tracking. Maybe Suunto uses a customized design with more light to improve accuracy on the S9.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos I think I remember reading that heart rate, HRV and motion is used to estimate sleep stages. From what I’ve seen, the S9 Baro has all of this!

I did not notice that… I have to watch it again. But basically: new baro hole position would be very nice! IMHO the position of the baro holes is crucial and I would absolutely appreciate when the Suunto Team does recognize and optimize it for all use cases.

@freeheeler I think there are more people in this forum using the new watch…I have some suspicious people
Today I saw a really nice track of someone and I do not think that the S9 is able to do it with the actual firmware.I think that we should make a list with all the people that we know/suspect are beta-testers to keep them controlled

So what I get is the S9 peak is thinner, a lot lighter and has 24/7 blood oxygen measurement as well a different buttons.
So there must be something else about that freedom of mind thing (if this is not only about the watch being so lightweight, that you would not feel it)… -
