Suunto 9 Peak
-
@paata I haven’t noticed it. But it was the same for A3P and S9B before: no stuck when saving.
-
Locking mechanism, button, whatever it’s called on the strap is starting to not hold. Pretty much a daily thing now waking every morning to find it has popped out.
Any tips or tricks on that? Or anyone else having similar issues?
-
@stromdiddily I have the same. When I push hands under the pillow and sleeping it gets popped out.
Bought a new strap. I’ll see how it holds and why. I did inform Suunto.
However I am ok all day. It never gets popped out only during sleep.
This is not the original that comes with moss color. It’s one that has the strap holes dark.

I had similar issue, the culprit was that I had been stretching the strap part between buckle tongue and the pin too much. Try to leave buckle tongue in the same hole but for pin use previous hole to what you use now. It doesn’t affect overall tightness of the strap on your wrist.
-
Hello
when you select interval workout on running and you also select navigation route, why my suunto does not show route it just say “turn left in 300m” but you can not see course?
tnx
-
@miha1234 that’s correct the breadcrumbs screen goes off for intervals.

Will give that a try. Seems like over time it’s bound to repeat the issue though. Part of my problem is the button is right on the bone of my wrist so it’s easily pushed against.
Not my favorite design tbh
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos this is so stupid Why they did it like that?
-
@miha1234 because having a lot of screens during an interval session also does not make a lot of sense. Especially navigation.
Turn off the intervals (or when you finish the session) and navigation will come back afaik

Hi all.
Can anyone tell me how well the Suunto 9 Peak works with Android smartphones, mainly getting notifications, and from what apps does it get notifications?
Aside from calls and sms, i would need email also.
Thanks in advance. -
@ricardo-marinheira I get notifications from Gmail. Have not tried other email apps.
-
notification wise same experience as with S9B, basically SA Android has a white list filter for notifications, and once you get from app you don’t want, you turn it off for that app in SA settings
-
@herlas Any chance of knowing what apps are possible to include in that white list?
I use a Samsung smartphone, so aside from gmail, samgung mail and outlook for android would be crucial. -
@ricardo-marinheira I also have outlook for android besides google mail and it’s there. Thing is, as I mentioned, it’s a white list, meaning, any app on your phone that sends out a notification will be allowed to do so AFAIK, unless you go into the settings and manually stop it from being able to.
Hope this helps

but outlook was known to not trigger notification on Suunto watch , even if in the SA white list (at least it was reported like this, maybe fixed now).
-
@mff73 Still confirmed . Outlook notifications are not working.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos hmm, i am also Garmin user and when running/cycling where i do not know the road this works great for me.
I have navigation as main screen and interval is just show for few second to know what you have to do and then it switches back to navigation.
I was really expect more from Suunto. For trainning point of you it lacks basically all the features that are needed
Advance intervals,…
Can this be expected in future?

Just a wild idea…Suunto should start an exchange program
Return your “old” S9 and receive the new version with a discount. This is what holds me back from getting new models as soon as they come out. I genuinely feel a waste of materials/money/etc by leaving my old one sat in the drawer. I think suunto would be shocked at how many of us would hand over older models that they could pick components from and recycle–then turn around and we all buy new.
-
@miha1234 you may want to search the forum on ‘structured intervals’ topic. But the bottom line was, at the time of last discussion at least, that structured intervals is not something suunto is working towards in the near future.
But it was rumoured for training plans from TP to come to our watches later this year. If this holds true and how exactly it will be implemented remains to be seen of course. -
I went trough whole TP pro HM 80/20 training, there was no workout that I could not do (with exeption of one that required 40s intervals) provided that you have some sort of short term memory.
