Suunto 9 Peak
-
@mff73 Still confirmed . Outlook notifications are not working.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos hmm, i am also Garmin user and when running/cycling where i do not know the road this works great for me.
I have navigation as main screen and interval is just show for few second to know what you have to do and then it switches back to navigation.
I was really expect more from Suunto. For trainning point of you it lacks basically all the features that are needed
Advance intervals,…
Can this be expected in future?

Just a wild idea…Suunto should start an exchange program
Return your “old” S9 and receive the new version with a discount. This is what holds me back from getting new models as soon as they come out. I genuinely feel a waste of materials/money/etc by leaving my old one sat in the drawer. I think suunto would be shocked at how many of us would hand over older models that they could pick components from and recycle–then turn around and we all buy new.
-
@miha1234 you may want to search the forum on ‘structured intervals’ topic. But the bottom line was, at the time of last discussion at least, that structured intervals is not something suunto is working towards in the near future.
But it was rumoured for training plans from TP to come to our watches later this year. If this holds true and how exactly it will be implemented remains to be seen of course. -
I went trough whole TP pro HM 80/20 training, there was no workout that I could not do (with exeption of one that required 40s intervals) provided that you have some sort of short term memory.
-
I am so excited. There must be a new firmware update just around the corner? At least I very much hope so. Next week maybe, just before World Vertical Week?
-
@patrick-löffler oh, the new ascent algorithm before vertical week you say?
-
@isazi Now that you mention it would make an awful lot of sense. What else could be in it? Resources fix, open water swim improvements…?
-
@patrick-löffler for the peak I would say ows, elevation, hr fixes/enchancements.
I also think we might be getting an improved map screen and maybe an s+ feature. -
@dmytro Oh yeah! That would be amazing! Can’t wait to get my hands on that update! What do you think on timing? Is next week a good guess?
-
@patrick-löffler I think @isazi hinted at it already:) Seems plausible to me and best timing ever - I’m going on a mountaineering trip if all goes well.
-
I know nothing about dates, the only thing I can talk about is the ascent algorithm because it has already been talked about in this forum
-
@isazi Thanks anyway. I thought I tried super subtle and smooth as 007 to get some information. Didn’t work! Damn.

So if we start talking about dates on this forum, you can too?

Hi, I recently received information from the service department that my watch has been replaced.
I have a question, what does the term “SUUNTO 9 PEAK CHINA SERVICE MODULE ALL BLACK” mean on the service card? The original watch had the designation:“SUUNTO 9 G2 ALL BLACK” and its being replaced with this “Chinese” one…
It scares me to see this inscription in the designation, because when paying the premium price for the watch the added value for me was that the watch is made in finland. Do I have anything to worry about? I don’t want to pay the same price for a Chinese , non European product. -

@mff73 yes but mind the activity capacity.
Some people abuse this function to record like 200h of data. The watch can hold up to ~50h of 1s data (belt pods etc).
I currently have about 78 hours of training data with 1s gps data and until now no unit has been overwritten in the logbook.
It seems that the memory is enough for more than 50h 1s of gps data. Now the first units in my logbook are overwritten after about 165h of recorded data in performance mode.

@mlatej
I think it’s better if you ask suunto support … -

But better ask the support.
-
@mlatej I don’t know any details about service/repair procedure, but can reassure you that all Suunto 9 Peak are made in Finland, Global and China version have only software differences.

Ok, so today I received the watch.
And here an interesting fact, I have the feeling that moving around the menu works much smoother than in the previous version. This immediately caught my eye.
It is written on it Designed and made in Finland uff
