Suunto 9 Peak (review and specs)

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos What are the correct Measurements? The description says 43 x 43 x 10.6 mm but from the picture the thickness should be 13 mm link text.
-
@nickk just pre-ordered mine yesterday
-
@wotus I am not sure
-
@wotus According to The5kRunner review, it seems to depend on whether the OHR sensor is included or not.

@soojong-moon Weird the thickness of the suunto 9 baro

Another question. Did anyone know if S9P has an updated CPU compared to S9b?
I assume a new processor has been added (less power consume and higher capacity) but I could be wrong

@mff73 OK.
It seems very strange to me to measure an element without taking part of this element into account ! -

Personnaly (and I never had a watch with OHR… yet), but I feel like the sensor is expected to “press into the skin” (sorry for this expression ), and the real thickness of the watch (seen when worn) is more like measuring without this sensor.
So, marketing new measures, or new reference, result is to compare apples to apples. -
@mff73 I agree. You can’t really add sensor protrusion to the overall thickness, because it really isn’t a part of the watch profile on your wrist. I know it’s splitting hairs (and tattoos), but as with moles, it’s what’s above your skin that matters
-
@nickk
In a better English… Yes -
@mff73 Yes it can be heard. In fact it is the data available on the SUUNTO site that is confusing …
-
Watching the review of Joaquin this view seems to me a bit “flatter” in the peak compare to the baro, isn’t it? The screenshot I took is not the best so I put a blue line. Minute 9:27 in this video
-
@bulkan Maybe the scale is somewhat different, but I do see a similar pattern in both tops. I don’t think the data is diffent.
Watching a little bit further at 9:35, I noticed the bug I reported here is solved in the S9 peak! The sun icon is now visible against a white background. Hope it comes to the S9B too.
-
Can someone tell me what the green horizontal bar between the datafields is you see in the video? I have never seen it.
Edit: Nevermind… I just found out about the “Target” setting. I never used it
-
Since there seems to be a bit confusion about the thickness, at least for me, can someone post a pic of a Suunto Spartan Sport without OHR in comparison to the new Suunto 9 Peak? That would be awesome…
-
@surfboomerang if you talk about the sea level pressure that wont come to windsuf. We have turned off the sensor as wind etc can really mess it up
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos I was talking about the sun icon color of the weather widget, but good to know that pressure is not measured for the exact reason you mentioned. Does this also mean that altitude is no longer recorded for watersports? Because that metric was quite useless for those sports
-
@surfboomerang I am not sure if this applies to all water sports. But I would assume to most yes. I know there are a few misalignments here and there reported.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos You’re right. Maybe it is interesting for downhill kayaking (or how is that sport called?)
