@dimitrios-kanellopoulos for this run I used the weather S+… usually I don’t use it…bit I noticed that regardless I use S+ or not, the VO2 record is random. Not related to S+.
-
@argo320 its strange because we dont get this issue. 0 reports from FT
I am not denying the issue though and there was a fix… So idk what to say. Lets track this on a different thread.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos ok let me know if I need to send the logs thanks.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Any updates for the S7 coming soon?
-
Nice update!
Does snap to route disable the off-route warning or does it only snap if you are within a certain distance from the planned route? -
@sartoric Thats true, and thats a fact: i do the same. But its a pity to let that potential without improvements.
New tools, better performance…
Now S9, S5… are way ahead him and thats caused by that software “frozen” improvement.
-
@halajos you should have all navigation features as well just not reversing a route or looping

@egika Raise to wake seems to work only for the standby backlight. Give it a try. This makes sense, turning the brightness to 100% everytime would probably drain the battery more.
It seems like there is no option to turn the backlight off completely, now it is activated upon every button press. The toggle functionality seems to have transformed into the possiblity to turn on/off the constant backlight from the shortcuts menus accesible from the normal watchface or during excercise by holding the middle button.
For me it makes no sense (and the manual is also suggesting differently).
I set the backlight to low and no standby light. Then I would expect raise to wake to switch on the backlight in low intensity.
Can’t see the need for standby to be coupled to it.
Plus the two finger tap made it easy to briefly switch the light on at night, when a message came in.
Going through a long button press and the shortcut twice to enable and then disable it is a big step backwards in my eyes… -
The standby light is not required

Ok, now I got it.
The standby light switch needs to be on for Raise to wake to work.
Standby will actually be off and only come on when raising the watch.
I understand this implementation nowStill missing the two finger toggle tap…
-
@egika try the shortcut from the watchface long press.

I’ve seen it.
Still it is two long buttons plus selection of the menu item.I often used the two finger tap if I received a message and am in the dark.
As long as the message was displayed I could toggle the backlight on and off. Super easy and quick. The light would stay off otherwise.
In darkness it is difficult to get the shortcut right as long as the light is not on yet… -
@egika yeah I get it.
-
Is baro trend arrow gone in outdoor watchface or does it just need some time to catch up?
-
@prenj as the firmware update clears all data, it needs some time to collect some for trend analysis
-
@prenj Normally it takes a couple of hours
-
@egika But, the light will now turn on with every button press and it will even turn on automatically on every notification (messages etc.) unless you have DND on. So, you don’t need to get that shortcut without backlight.
I really loved the toggle mode on my Spartan Trainer with a dedicated button press for backlight. But on Suunto 9 it wasn’t very practical for me. To check the time at night, one had to wake the touchscreen by a button press and then tap the screen with two fingers (which usually failed for me like three times before I managed to turn the light on). So I switched to automatic backlight (turns on with every button press), but from time to time I was missing the ability to turn the continuous backlight on easily. Now I have both
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos with suunto 5, Will I still be able to toggle backlight with long press of upper left button or this functionality is removed ?
-
@tomas5 to be honest I don’t know but I would expect that it ain’t removed. I’ll check with evening with my s5
-
@inkognito thank you, I got it.
Think I will have to live with this, as it was necessary to streamline SW to the Peak model which has advanced backlight features.Anyway, those new possibilities are not so much for me. I like no backlight at all most of the time (partly to save battery, partly not to disturb others).
I like no light with every buton press, nor with every notification. Just with notifications and the toggle tap.Let’s finish this as it can’t really be resolved, and check out some other new features
