    @traileyes
    interesting… as a completely uninformed person I am very surprised. Especially about the naming… what does “peak” actually mean now?
    This watch has no barometric sensor and I could understand that this is basically an S9P without baro, hence an S9 (nonbaro) successor and sibling to the S9P as S9 was to S9B…?!

      @markytarky awesome - thanks. The S5 is my favourite Suunto and this seems to be a great successor 👍🏻😀

          @traileyes is there any release date known? I couldn’t find anything on Suunto website, nor any other source.
          I wonder if release of the watch will be aligned with release of some cool new features, like those that S9p introduced.

            @freeheeler peak maybe stands for all the things that can not be measured… peak moments… I would say also lightweight, thin… feels comfortable… Also old 5 didn’t have a Baro

              @dmytro Suunto’s PR firm told me that the launch of the 5 Peak is today (Jan. 20), but yeah, I hadn’t seen anything on the site yet either. I def wanted to link to it in the article.

                @traileyes this 5 Peak isn’t on the Suunto website yet. Does that mean that you’re a bit early with your anouncement?

                Previously used: Cyclosport HAC4, Polar S710, Ambit 2S, Ambit 3S, SSU, S5P, S9P Ti. Currently using: Race Ti.

                      This is a nice looking watch and very lightweight - great! But where are the innovations? Look elsewhere. 😢 Maybe next time.

                        @freeheeler it’s shame they didn’t include the baro sensor. I think it will be worth it, even if the price will jump to $349 due to its presence. But they know better. I’m still wondering that Coros pace 2 for $199 has everything inside. How the heck they are doing it?

                            Let’s wait for full S5P specs, but if S5P had baro I’m not sure if I would need S9P anymore 🙂

                              @markytarky 245 doesn’t have a Baro also. I like the idea of a minimalistic watch (lightweight) for flat running…

                                I don’t know any details about that watch and I might be on thin ice here… but if Suunto had added a baro sensor to S5P it would be an S9P, or am I completely wrong?

                                  Looks like at 4:15 am U.S. Eastern Time, there will be a video premiere of some sort spotlighting the 5 Peak, for those who are eager to see more of the new watch: https://youtu.be/u-bg-fNg-t0

                                    Maybe there‘s not only the adaptive training plan on the watch, but finally also user defined structured workout support introduced. If so, Suunto would make me very happy 😃

                                        @mountainchris fair enough. I have nothing against it, just discussing 😄 I will never buy it as I’m in the mountains and woods 90% of my trainings.
