Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
Seems that we have to wait around a week:
-
@cosme-costa
thatās a mean teaser -
@cosme-costa watchband just unveiled official
-
@freeheeler I really really hope there will be two sizesā¦ Otherwise I go madā¦
-
@mountainChris
not sure why this valid wish was down votedā¦ -
@freeheeler hope this does not mean that there are no 2 sizes
-
@mountainChris
I donāt know, but by the leaks we have seen, I doubt it -

@mountainChris
I donāt know, but by the leaks we have seen, I doubt itDoesnāt look like it does it. Iād have probably bought one if it was the same size as my S9B, the Peak is just too small for me unfortunately. Aside from that, nice job
-
@cosme-costa then I assume weāll see an update either shortly before (as with s9p) or on the same day.
-
@DMytro My guess is that we will get the upgrade at the same time of the presentation or even later. I mean (and all is speculation) if Suunto is keeping the presentation and mainly the new features/UI quite āsecretā I do not think they are going to release the new features/UI beforehand in the older watches.

would be nice, but I doubt it. Iād be happy to be wrong though
-
@aroo7 it would be nice if they also surprised us with some decent updates for the older watches, they need to keep up with the competition. Garmin is pushing updates and beta like mad atm!!
-
@BinoWorld-UK Yeah. They feel the Apple Watch ultra. They even added native running power measured at the wrist. That was only possible with Garminsā heart rate belts. But as the Ultra can do it - they followed. Competition is so good!

I also have a Wahoo Elemnt Rival in addition to my S9B, that usually gets some type of update at least every couple of weeks and theyāre normally pretty decent ones too
-
@MiniForklift @BinoWorld-UK Rather then send out alpha and beta versions as Garmin does, Suunto uses a fairly extensive and diverse group of field testers to find bugs. Not saying one is better than the other but after having an Epix 2 for over six months, a lot of the bugs reported to Garmin are user-specific issues and not bugs. So, Garmin has to sort through them and figure out which ones are pervasive and which ones are not. That takes a lot of effort.
The fieldtest approach, while not perfect eliminates 99% of the bugs, leaving a small set for the consumer.

@Brad_Olwin thatās a great way of approving the topic of bugsā¦ā¦ what about the lack of added features by Suunto on many forgotten watches. Are they aware of market shift due to lack of updates to their devices? I have owned like you many brands and I must admit Suunto is the slowest and the least enthusiastic compnay when it comes to innovation and desire to improve and add additional features to the Suunto line up.
-
Yo dude, you can found an old topic we discussed on these testers.
For me , find the next generation testers, itās a big challenge for Suunto,
Oh my god, Where did they found these ā¦ corny cocky testersā¦ Suunto must to wipe them off.
Everytime you ask a new feature, they will jump to your eyes and saying "no I donāt need that!! Iām A ultra Sporter! Listen to me! Or Iāll cry!! "

Maybe Suunto find their niche market/users that prefer simple watches and more stability. Itās the only answer that can come up to my mind.
If it is enough for them, who knows ? -
@Brad_Olwin I would agree that such an approach would be really great for some of us , but it seems that this is not always the case . For instance the current version of S9P has some really annoying bugs (reported in this forum) and by not getting updated for bug fixes for so long, We (some users) get the impression that the company is not following this.
I am not following or liking the features race of some of other vendors but it is really annoying and demoralizing to not having fixes to well known critical issues that may reset your activity , crash the watch or record random data (eg Ows). My point is that updating the firmware with bug fixes on a regular and known basis is a huge plus for the user base .

@BinoWorld-UK tbh suunto still releases features to 4yo+ watch, I wonder if Garmin still pushes updates to Fenix 5.
I would have loved even more feature to be released, just so that the watch feels fresh, but I think suunto+ features and guides were kind of great updates and the app keeps improving as well.
