Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
Guys, check this as well
Go through all the colour variants and check the images. You will find quite a few interesting things there. E.g., the interface before starting an excercise looks dangerously close to that of S7. You can see that in the image of the Titanium Sand variant where person holds the phone with heatmaps next to the watch. So, what if the Pro version has an AMOLED screen? That was also one of the options in the latest surveys.
I am also wondering about those two additional metal contacts at the back. Wasn’t there a question about an external battery for longer battery life in one of the surveys? What if these will be used for that?
So many questions…
As for the link: I simply googled “Suunto 9 Peak Pro” and obtained that as one of the results…
EDIT: The other colour variants are now hidden in that page. But I managed to get the links from the archive:
-
@inkognito Screen size (inches) 1.7 "
interesting

@inkognito ye, oled screen is what I thought too. Maybe they just put in a more powerful processor (hence the ‘pro’) and so they could afford some nicer animations. Or maybe they managed to pull it off using a similar processor as in s9/9p - we could see some of that in the next update.
Anyways, things are shaping up great. Also the price is reasonable - just as s9p titanium at the start of sales.
Also it says, available from 27.9, so it’s about one month away. -
@thanasis I think it’s not the screen but the whole body, with the bezel etc.
-
btw, second to last photo in the last colorway shows off the new watchface. Looks kinda cyberpunk 2077.
-
@DMytro Then there will be a SW update for the regular S9 peak around that date i guess.
-
@DMytro but how oled display and better battery life together?
-
@Richard-Thygesen ye, and the summer update beforehand hopefully too.
-
@dulko79 maybe the ‘best’ mode would incorporate a display time out. Which you could disable in the custom mode.
-
@inkognito ask myself really?.. No update big Suunto, but update of small S9P after a year… hmmm
-
As in the past, discussing “leaks” is fine, but let’s avoid publishing embargoed material here.

I have removed images that AFAIK belong to Suunto, I have left the link so whomever wants to can see images elsewhere.

-
@thanasis because without Lock button in main screen it’s not pro…
-
Comparing to the S9 Peak, all the dimensions mostly match. The only difference is about 2g of weight. Aside from software changes, looks like the battery size increase is the only change really.
-
@gerasimos i m not sure why you mentioned me on that . What do you mean ?
-
@seanvk I think it’s more than 2g, since this is a titanium model - comparing s9p titanium, we get an 8g difference. Also I assume the feature list is incomplete, since you can notice one additional sensor and 2 metal dots on the back. We’ll have to wait and see.
-
@DMytro Yes it’s awful I wished for a “cleaner” easy to read watchface, or even better for a userdefineable - but it really looks like the S7’s menues and sportsmode screens. So perhaps here comes a complete interface overhaul and therefore- who knows - Maps like on the S7 now on this S9 Peak Pro? The two aditional sensors are placed away from the main sensor, so they maybe not coniderd to have skin contact -> maybe for betteroutdoor/water temperature?
-
@ChrisA doubt the watch has maps, otherwise they’d show them of on the leaked images. Maybe as an update though?
But to me new animation suggests more powerful processor. Or maybe some optimization at least. Wouldn’t mind getting new interface on the S9, however I doubt this will be happening.
-
@DMytro Yes, maybe but then - with “just” a different interface and a stronger battery it would be “just” an upgraded S9 Peak and surely a nice watch, but I doubt that anybody would upgrade from a S9 Peak then (assuming it’s in the 500+ Euro price area). On the other hand, it’s not called S10 or S11, so you might be right Perhaps it’s just a predecessor of a whole new range of watches with a new chipset/interface and the S10/11 is then coming as a christmas present
