Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
I recorded this little video to show how the menu responsiveness looks
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
thank you for sharing!
…the “I want it” feeling is growing -
I have a couple of questions for the testers.
- Did they add a sport mode “duathlon”?
- Is it possible to edit the sport mode “triathlon”?
- Is it possible to create your own sport mode with one-touch switching? (Example: ski race - transit - bike - transit - run).
- Has the body resource bug where resources drop to 0 after stretching been fixed?
- Are there any changes to the “swimming in the pool” sport mode? (rest timer, adding distance for leg exercises).
Thanks!
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos much more responsive, but still a little bit laggy. Will suunto work on improving this or is the performance limited due to hardware limitations?

No idea why someone downvoted you, must have been a mistake

Not that I know, but there is an experimental swimrun S+ app to test things like automatic transition. From rumors I heard, if everything goes well these may transition from S+ to the firmware.

No.

I don’t know, probably not.

Dimitrios said yes the other day.

No, also for that it may come to S+ first and firmware later.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Is this with the final firmware or still beta?
-
@surfboomerang beta
-
@Stas-Varazhbit the reosuces should be fixed and coming up I think for all devices.

Also with the update for the S9P? -
The ability to change the order of the screens is great and long requested. Isn’t this also planned for older watches? I don’t think this is limited by hardware. Or am I wrong?
-
It would be nice with the S9P update to at least have the new activity selection or something equivalent. I think this should not be too complicated and does not require the new hardware. .
-
@Frederick-Rochette that’s what Dimi said.
-
@Pavlas I doubt it will come. I do not think it is a hardware issue, but may require rewriting part of the old interface if that one wasn’t built to be configurable like the new one, and that is a cost.

a cost that would significantly benefit the user base… so maybe a profitable decision, long term.
-
We already had the same discussion at the Spartan / S9 transition and unfortunately the story was not in the direction of the owners of spartan … it seems to be repeated S9 § / S9PP. These are business model choices, Suunto does not have the customer base of a Garmin
-
@thanasis from customer point of view for me this brings no real benefits. S9 and peak got so many features and accuracy updates over the years which are really useful. F6 did not get so much love in details as S9 imo. But efforts for only new graphics I would say not so necessary. But of course should a new watch with new processor get new UI with graphics… that’s whats happening.

I think It is a trivial feature in terms of implementation with significant benefits (the enablement/disablement of screens) and something that was there from ambit times as well. I don’t think it so big but the mentality of “we don’t invest in that because it involves costs etc” even though it is something that should (or was expected) to have been there in the first place . anyway, they can do anything they want … I am just sharing my view
-
@thanasis tbh I find arguing on this pointless for two reasons:
We haven’t seen the code suunto uses for the old UI (which is at least 6yo btw) -> how can we judge if something is easy to implement
We aren’t market analytics having access to suunto sales/customer data -> how can we judge if implementing this or that is going to have a noticeable impact.Not to say I think you or anyone else is not allowed to share their opinion of course:)
For me personally it’s all the same if my S9 gets edit function or not, I only use two screens anyways: watchface and exercise. -
I can’t use S+ cadence coach. My S9 Peak bug on running activity.
I can’t see Stryd S+ and yesterday i can see Activelook but not today. -
@thanasis we are trying to make these new settings come to you guys even if that means loosing something else.
We are not idle on this subject we are trying.
