@Łukasz-Szmigiel On the titanium question, weight is of course a big one, as well as its more durable. I have had steel bike frames in the past which can age quickly and rust in weird areas. Titanium does not rust ever. I currently have an unfinished/non-painted titanium bike frame which shows no signs of wear (live in Canada) which I’ve had for 10 years, and I ride it all seasons. If it scratches I can easily buff them out

Stainless Steel is not as strong as Titanium hence making stainless steel watches less tough than titanium watches. Stainless Steel watches are not as durable as Titanium watches. Stainless Steel watches are needlessly heavier than titanium watches, so if weight is a concern that this is a point to take note of.

It would have been really cool if you could combine a SunntoGuide with a SuuntoPlus feature. I mean the situation I’m most likely wanting to use the Plus feature is when I’m doing a structured workout which is 90+% of all my workouts. Also, I had hoped with the new processor, that would be possible.

What exactly happens in endurance mode in regards to GPS? Does it switch to GPS only? Is running power metering working in endurance mode too?

Endurance mode will use fewer satellites I believe but still 1 s fix. Yes, power works in this mode.

@Brad_Olwin also, restoring custom modes after a hard reset could be, theoretically, not that difficult. But moving custom modes to a different watch, with different screens, screen size, etc? That is more complicated for sure, and would probably require user interaction anyway.

It would really surprise me if that’s the case. Why buy a €500 watch to only use default sport modes?

@surfboomerang I would not trust any automatic conversion without user interaction . What if a data field is not available? Put nothing there, put another random data field, ask the user? Eventually it takes time, maybe less than create everything from scratch, but how many times will this happen? Would Suunto see this as a priority?
I would like to have a backup of sport modes in case of hard reset of the same watch, I would also prefer said backup to be only restored if I want to, and not automatically.

@isazi i found a cosmetic bug when in hikih basic sport mode. If are on screen showing total distance in the midle you can move distance figure left and right on the screen. Also you are not able to move to next screen when you are doing that. Tou have to place fingers lower or higher on a screen to be able to scroll to next data screen

@Brad_Olwin so basically endurance can be used for cycling or running in the open. Which means 70+ hours when used with external HR?

Main point of titanium watches beside weight is when you have a person allergic to nickel which is in all stainless alloys. Allergic reaction occurs at random, to some people and to some never.
With titanium or gold you just have much smaller chance of getting an allergic reaction, but it is possible still.

First trail run yesterday with the new beast. OHR seems to suit me better than with previous model (to be confirmed). Power looks also to work great.
BUT, indeed, what a pitty to have to customize again all sport mode

i just hope that not all developpements are always done according to usage statistics.
is there any survey which could measure how many people would create a custom sportsmode, IF it would be “easier”/“quicker” ?
If Suunto would propose an option just to change one field from a standard sportmode, and create then a custom one, i imagine more users would try (but just my guess).@isazi said in Suunto 9 Peak Pro?:

i, for sure, can’t imagine how difficult each situations could be.
But from far seeing (comparing SSU, and S9PP), screens logics are the same (3/4/5/7 fields, laps tabs, etc…), and saving/restoring screentype, data fields choosen in which position, there should not be that much exceptions inside Spartan/S watches lines. And in case copy/paste/backup/restore into other watch, would not match 100%, yes, a warning message that in this particular case, could be enough.but too much offtopic now
