SuuntoPlus sports app suggestions

My sports app suggestion would be use sensors to estimate nordic ski discipline used (automatic detection of classical or skate style, or even better what technique within each style, V1, V2, V2 alternate etc) or nordic ski power like Garmin introduced some time ago. That might require an external sensor like a HR belt.

For pool swimmers Suunto + app to add the missing and must have pool swim features, mainly drill mode ( do kick sets and have that distance added to total swim distance and tagged as drill in the after the fact summary in SA also, drill pace shouldn’t be taken into consideration for the swim avg pace for each automatic interval.
And a plus would be, learning of swim styles to better detect what you’re swimming.
This will basically mean for me use only one watch and not an ambit 3 for pool swim

Depth GAUGE and timer etc… For apnea!
-
@etienneherr the baro sensor cannot double as depth sensor, except for the S9PP.
-
@isazi so it could be available for s9pp and next watches depending on HW?
-
@etienneherr the S9PP already support “apnea” in two sport modes: snorkeling and mermaiding.
-
@isazi I understand only 10m depth? Is it hardware limit?
-
@etienneherr yes, it’s a hardware limit. The watch is still waterproof to 100m under water, but should not be used to reliably measure depth under 10m.
-
@herlas how many upvotes shall I give for it to make this dream come true?
-
@zadow I know, but we’ll keep pushing

S+ for anaerobic threshold in running is available to determine HR/pace zone 4/5 limit. Why not make S+ for determination of aerobic threshold in running such as Uphill Athlete Heat rate Drift test in combination with Training peaks Pa:HR ratio function for zone 2 upper limit. With both S+ apps user would have 2 tests for better definition of HR/pace zones for running.
-
I’d like to have a stair counter s+ for circuit traing or running profiles.
-
Would love for a Climb Pro type feature, where you upload a pre-planned route, and the major climbs are identified along the route. When in the activity, it would then tell you distance to start of climb, and when you’re on the climb how much further to the top and the gradient. This would be great for trail running, cycling and mtb. I suppose it could be done within the app, where waypoints are placed at the start and end of each climb.
-
@LitchiMonster this has been requested, but it is part of navigation, not the S+.

Wait a few days……

@Brad_Olwin Suunto people really know how to tease users thanx for the hint.
-
I created a structured workout yesterday for the first time, it worked great and better than I had hoped it would be. Well done Suunto
-
@MiniForklift Yeah, it really works well but in my opinion there should be some improvements, like a counter, to know in which interval/repetition you are and some improvements in font sizes.
I like how intervals.icu shows the info in the watch but it is way more easy to plan the interval inside SA. -
Ghost runner
A choice of the pace the ghost shall hold. Up to now the pace of the first km is taken or the last manual measured lap.
It’s a bit of work to create some manual laps on the treadmill with a personal pace for the next run, which are taken as pace for the next ghost runner session.

@pilleus that requires a change in how the apps work, so far they have no set parameters. But it may happen if there’s enough support. I think Suunto has this on the drawing board.
