Suunto Vertical: Bug Collection

@Mff73 thanks !

There is probably a bug here, when doing roller, the watch does not get the altitude difference. On approximately the same path, I have 34 meters of descent/ascent while 0 descent and 3m ascent in roller mode.
-
@darxmurf
do you mean roller skate?I do the same path, roundtrip, and I get 69/71

I own a Vertical for almost 1 year now. I have created some custom sport modes for running.
When I start a new activity using any of those custom modes, the battery mode is always set to “custom”, even if I 100% of the times change it back to performance.
I would say it should remember the last selected mode.
Also, this is how my S9B works, and never ever had an issue.
Of course I have soft rebooted the watch a couple of times.
This has been the behaviour since…forever. Definitely not something from the last update(s).
This is really frustrating.
Any idea of what could be? Or is this because of the custom sport modes?
Many thanks. -
Two times in last 3 days, my vertical did not save gps data. Distance was 0.00km, map was drawing my route, speed/pace was ok, but in the end no gps track and 0 diatance. Basic running and stand up paddling mode. Anyone else with that problem? I already reported to Dimitros and sent logs.
-
@Likarnik
no such pb here (yet ) (to answer your question ), but, out of curiousity, how are looking those two activities, in the SV logbook, in SA after sync (if synced) ? -
@Mff73 first (running) activity has everything, duration, elevation data, power, pace, hearr rate, steps,… I also parsed .fit file, and there is no gps data, but everything else is ok. Wierd thing is that I used map on my way back to follow exact route. I deleted second activity and started again as I noticed as soon as I started padeling. Second time it was as usual.
-
@Likarnik
ok. If you have android phone, you could potentially export the watch raw file for this running activity, and check if there are some GPS data inside.
Good luck to understand what happened. -
Did give my Vertical a new chance the last 5 days as my daily, am not fully satisfied with the results.
Sleep;
During the last days the sleep analysis have been 2 days of 5 days way off (4 hours instead of 7+)Steps;
My steps are ridiculous low on Suunto. Get to 10.000 steps is really hard and usually only get to around 6000, at the same time my watch 7 shows over 10.000 and phone low 11.000.The data where so off with steps and the irregular sleep analysis so I started to wear my watch 7 again at the same time to be able to do a comparison.
I still use the Vertical During training because that is where it really shines!
But as a daily health watch Suunto have some work to do and I hope this get some attention from devs

Same problem here. Sleep is wrong and steps are to low. But what’s most confusing is that sleep used to be correct.

Quick update about the HR sensor issue. I disabled the daily HR stats and I’m not losing the sensor anymore when leaving the watch on a flat surface.

They tweaked the steps algo as it was definitely over counting prior to the latest firmware but I think they over corrected a bit. There has been a lot of feedback on this so hopefully they’ll tweak it a bit further.
As for sleep, gotta be sure your resting heart rate value is set correctly. If it is, then I’d probably reach out to support.
-
@stromdiddily they sure did a tweak with the steps.
Today is one of those days when my steps are ridiculous far from the truth.
My Suunto is at 4500.
My phone and watch 7 16700.The Suunto does count steps very good during training, but on a day to day basis it sometimes just stops and it feel like it have a hard time all other activity besides training.
When I for example have been in a chair and after a while leave it it sometimes does not recognise that I am moving, and won’t count any steps at all. This is happening several times every day

Using latest firmware, started a hike with all the default options (Performance GPS, Weather app, OHR, no sensors etc), and a POI for navigation.
Although GPS was working and I was seeing the past track getting recorded on the map, no distance, speed etc was getting recorded.
The same applied when I synced it to the app.
On the way back, all same settings, a new POI etc, everything was alright.
-
It looks like the battery drain issue stopped since I disabled the daily HR stats.
-
@darxmurf Did you turn off the 24/7 HR tracking under activity menu?
-
@obhikkhu yes

@obhikkhu yes
Thanks for the tip. Any idea if this has an effect on sleep tracking and HRV?
-
@obhikkhu it will stop to track HRV
