So I am still waiting (after 2 weeks in received status) for the servicing of the SV… Contacted support saying what will happen since its a brand new watch (second unit) and I have marathons and what not coming up. The response: the repair is in progress… keep in mind it will take a month or more to be inspected and repared… But as one guy in this forum said: ‘Hey at least I have guarantee’… Its good that the watch spends some quality time with its mum (suunto service)… for crying out loud!
Not sure where are you based, but if not mistaken in europe (at least in Portugal) brands have 30 days to repare it, otherwise you have the right to have your money back.

@André-Faria Germany. Bought the SV on day one and had in on my wrist less than 2 months overall. So almost 6 months have passed and I spent 800 eu (not counting the straps) on something that I cannot use. I didn’t have prior experience with Suunto service but with other major brands it was: Apple - my new born threw the AW and broke the screen - it was replaced the next day (ok I had apple care). Garmin’s F6x was stuck one morning and I got new one in 3 days (they didn’t even wait for the old one to get back to them). Having a new device 30 days!!! in service in 2023 is… I do not know what word to use here.

@EzioAuditore that sounds really sad.
Maybe you can send me a PM?
Depending on where in Germany you are based we could probably work something out.Cheers

@Egika Done. Thank you!

Hi, so I have this problem with SV. In the basic running section where you select battery mode, well by default it’s Custom now. I don’t want to change every single time Performance why it can’t remember the last setting? I tried “soft reset” didn’t worked. It’s still custom by default. It’s not a deal breaker for sure but it’s such a small gimmick that somehow just can’t fix it. Every other setting works well except battery performance “last setting”
-
@Marton-Attila With S9, the trick was to set up your Custom mode to match exactly the Performance mode settings… Perhaps that would work with SV as well…

Good idea, thanks! I just did a second “soft reset” and it worked out of the blue. It’s on performance by default now as the other exercises.

It’s not a bug, they said it’s a design since s9

Hello,
no idea if this bug is known. The following happens with my SV. The sun and moon times are not displayed correctly. For example, in the Sun and Moon widget the sunrise and sunset are shown as 02:35 and 15:27. In reality the times for today are 07:02 and 17:04. The watch is synchronized with the Suunto app and also set correctly locally, as is the smartphone (Android 13.1).

@coqiner and you have successfully acquired a GPS position with the watch at your current location?
Try this please and report back. -
When I turn on flashlight in bed and get up and walk around in the middle of the night and come back, turn off flash light andI browse activity and it says 0 steps, I was sure I was walking at least 100 steps.
-
@Egika Now it works. Many thanks!

Sport modes not showing in list, first two whited out
Watch crashed mid run today
Core temp device Max and Min shows in app but not on watch face summary once activity has been stopped
Map has white lines across it
Not finding connected devices when connecting to a subsequent activity after already being connected during first activity

Fix for the sleep tracking. I always sleep at least 6 hours, But the watch always says 2-4 hours, every night. As it stands now it is more or less useless to sleep with it…

Like in other thread: this is most likely not a bug, but related to the settings. Have you setup your personal rest heart rate to a value that equals you resting (and not minimum during sleep)?
-
@Egika How do you do that? Suunto is The first brand that dont get this correct. Otherwise i like the Vertical
-
-
@Iggge Settings - General - Personal - Rest HR
…I think we need an FAQ section in the forum…
-
@Egika Done that. Have it on 60, and before that i had it on 65.

I too had this set to the wrong value. While it is called ‘resting’ heart rate, it is easily mistaken for minimum (sleeping) heart rate, because of its placement near the maximum heart rate settings. Maybe it should be in the sleep settings menu, although I’m not sure that would do it either. Interesting that I never made the distinction between the two numbers.
Since I have used Garmin devices it’s interesting that on Garmin, resting heart rate=minimum heart rate/sleeping heart rate. These numbers were automatically updated based on watch measurements. Polar gets the distinction right, but I never read that part of the manual (lol).
You learn something new each day… If sleep tracking works for me after this, I will really be impressed. I’d just resigned myself to the fact that it has never worked for me on any watch that I’ve owned (Garmin/Polar).
