solar charging
-
@riccardo88ve today I got some trail riding in with plenty of sunshine. 3 rings.
-
@Todd-Danielczyk what strap is that one ?? Seems interesting
-
@thanasis it’s a knock off version of the Apple Ultra ocean.
NotoCity for Garmin Fenix 6 Band 22mm Ocean Watch Band for Fenix 7, Fenix 5, Fenix 6 Pro, Fenix 5 Plus, Forerunner 955/945, Approach S60/S62, Epix (Army Green) https://a.co/d/8eKD1je
Super comfy and keeps the Vertical tight enough to get good HR readings.

@freeheeler Thank you, then, in my opinion, my vertical has some problems… it is not possible that in full sun only 2 circles are filled. today I contact Suunto support and let’s see what they say. thanks
-
@riccardo88ve May be true, here is last week for mine, no issues. I would contact support.
-
@Brad_Olwin At what level of charge was your vertical?
-
@riccardo88ve not sure but probably 60-70%
-
Hello everyone, in the end I sent the vertical to a service center… the whole display was replaced … actually the panel had problems… now everything works perfectly.
-
@riccardo88ve Thank you very much for the follow up and good to hear your Vertical is now working correctly after the repair!
-
Happened to me today and yesterday. In full sun I have 2/3 rings, not 3/3 like i had in even sunny days than today. Direct sun 29’C, 0 clouds. I’ll probably go like riccardo with that I guess :P. Soft reset doesnt help.
-
I punched softly watch and so far it works again.
-
I wonder If miss something…
I don’t really use solar charging widget since new UI, because SV battery is so huge that I don’t really care.
But lately I wanted to see how it collected sun again, during a bike ride…
I was surprise to see that widget was totally empty whereas it was very sunny. I then notice that widget says that « solar charging is in sleep mode ».
Never saw that before or read about it.
Any idea ? For now solar charging is not working anymore. -
@Tieutieu
It’s always in IDLE status when there is no sufficient light. But in your case it could be stuck, did you try a soft reset ?
-
@sartoric OK thanks for your answer I didn’t know that. I try a soft reset.
When you mean stuck, does that means that widget is stucked ? or solar charging and widget are stucked ? -

maybe both, who knows
-
@sartoric I just did a soft reset. It’s full sun out there. Still “sleep mode displayed”, not indication of solar charging.
I’ll wait for next update. -

I’ll wait for next update.Maybe try give it a soft slap. For me worked and since than it works like before. I covered screen and punched it softly on my leg with soft little power

Brad, what’s that black version of Athletic 5? Never seen. Its Suunto Staff only or something?
-
Well, no display of solar charging…but no reason that my watch would be damaged, I more likely think of a bug. I’ll wait for the next update.
-
Hi, yesterday’s update didn’t changed my issue.
I also did a soft reset => no change
stop/start => no change
Unpin solar widget/soft rest/pinn widget => no change
My solar charging still remains in “sleep mode”, no indications of charge, bright sun.
It seems that you won’t be able to avoid support
But don’t know when…I have plenty of races and training in the next months…and I’m not motivated to come back to my S9b ; but I guess I may not have choice.
If anyone has a tip that could help me, it would be awesome.
I really don’t now when or why it stopped working, it had no special event that could have damaged it -
@Tieutieu Did you try factory restore? I had gps shifts quite bad not being solved by soft. So as a last resort I did factory. Now the track is spot on.
