Battery drain

Not Vertical, but S9PP. The battery itself was replaced a while ago, so it’s not old. It started to act up after the last update. I have charged it yesterday in the morning to 100% and now (after 24h) it shows only 90% of battery. Tried to change watch faces, doesn’t help. It’s discharging really fast and I hope Suunto is aware and able to fix it soon. Just FYI.
Indeed, there are still problem of battery drain on all watches.
Last fw update didn’t solve all issues -
For me after last update it helped to drain battery completly, that after 1% i turned it on and off (watch) few times, than charged it 100%. Losing 4%/24h with 1h non gps train. Before that like double of that. Vertical.
-
@Antoine It strangely solved the issue on my Vertical, but on S9PP it’s worse.

In my case (9PP too), if the watch rests in the drawer, the consumption is minimal and similar to the first day. And during sports activity I understand that it has not worsened substantially. However, if I use it beyond sports activity, as a daily watch, the consumption shoots up.

@Klaane My experience vith SV (non-solar) is as follows: in exactly 10 days, the battery charge dropped from 100% to 27%, with the fact that during this time I played sports for 7.5 hours (trail running and MTB). I estimate that the watch consumes 4%-5% of energy per day (with 24/7 OHR), and during sports training 3%-4% per hour (full performance mode).
After update to 2.37.48 situation is as follows: in exactly 7 days, the battery charge dropped from 100% to 74%, with the fact that during this time I played sports for 2,5 hours (trail running and nordic walking). I estimate that the watch after update consumes 2.5%-3% of energy per day (with 24/7 OHR), and during sports training consumption is the same 3%-4% per hour (full performance mode).
I am more than happy with this results -
And just for information, my experience with my SCTiS is in line with @Mouse Cruiser.
I hope that doesn’t jinx both of us…
Very happy with my battery performance as it is more or less in line with Suunto’s sales blurb.

Hi everybody,
Discharge and full charge thé watch this night.
1hour using only on m’y wrist and 2% batterie Lost.
No way…
My watch definitly have a problem ?
Do I need to make a hard or a soft reset ? -
@Marien-Perrot
did you already try a soft reset? it could be needed if experiencing battery drain after an activity -
@sartoric hello ! how did you do that ? I only have a hard reset choice available in the menu.
Thx -
-
@Marien-Perrot press and hold the upper right button until the screen turns off and the Suunto logo appears, indicating a reboot.
-
I think battery drain issue is not yet solved.
First of all my SVTS has notifications, sleep, 24/7 and backlight off.
With the last firmware, just after the update, I did 20 days with around 13/14 hours of activities with GPS (7/8 of them with maps all the time and following a route) + 2 hours of non GPS activities. That is pretty good for me.
But the last charge cycle have been 3.5 days, with 2.5 hours of GPS activities (1.5 hours with one route loaded but not used) and my watch is at 83%.Consumption during activities is normal and good as always.
I’m quite sure that if I do a soft reset the consumption will be normal again. If someone needs logs, let me know.
-
@iterumtenta Thx for your answer. Sorry I didn’t saw this possibility in the rtfm… My bad.
Since the last charge 4 days ago, only one activity of 1h.
Batterie is at 84%.
So it’s mean 4% dicrease per day.
I do soft reset after every activities since today because I’m expecting it will be better.Hope the new firm will correct this malfunction.
-
@Marien-Perrot I’ll be happy with 4% drop power day. Mine, since new, drops about 8% per day without any activity. I have the HR on and screen high on rise in. DND from 10pm to 5am set everyday.
-
@Marien-Perrot isn’t 4% ok ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Hi ! I mean 4% is for me too high juste for Time, BT, HR and notifications. No other functions or options are selected. And I don’t do many activities per days or per weeks.
I don’t remember if that was the case when I bought the watch.
The only one boring thing is I have too do soft reset after every activities but is it the good thing to do ? I don’t think so.
But with all your sensations about batterie drain, I recognize that I’m not in a very bad situation. -
@Marien-Perrot
Do you have sleep tracking enabled ?
HR 24/7 ?
BT 24/7 ?
Vibration? Sounds?
4% daily with some activities doesn’t look bad at all to meIt means 20 days to go from full to 20% … not even completely drained

No sleep tracking
HR on and only in use if I’m wearing the watch
BT on but link is not in use when my phone is night off.
Vibration On
Sounds Off
For now I think draining is normally as you said.
But to have this, I do soft reset after every activities.
Is it the right thing to do ?
I think I won’t try to do some soft reset after the next charge. -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I would say that 4% is worse than before the summer update… before this update which changed the watch faces, I had to charge every 4 weeks, and now the battery lasts about 3 to 3,5 weeks… without changing any settings…

@SuperFlo75
After a soft reset and no activities ?
Because there are still some drain issues, so it should be taken into consideration when doing comparisons
