Battery drain
-
@Marien-Perrot I’ll be happy with 4% drop power day. Mine, since new, drops about 8% per day without any activity. I have the HR on and screen high on rise in. DND from 10pm to 5am set everyday.
-
@Marien-Perrot isn’t 4% ok ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Hi ! I mean 4% is for me too high juste for Time, BT, HR and notifications. No other functions or options are selected. And I don’t do many activities per days or per weeks.
I don’t remember if that was the case when I bought the watch.
The only one boring thing is I have too do soft reset after every activities but is it the good thing to do ? I don’t think so.
But with all your sensations about batterie drain, I recognize that I’m not in a very bad situation. -
@Marien-Perrot
Do you have sleep tracking enabled ?
HR 24/7 ?
BT 24/7 ?
Vibration? Sounds?
4% daily with some activities doesn’t look bad at all to meIt means 20 days to go from full to 20% … not even completely drained

No sleep tracking
HR on and only in use if I’m wearing the watch
BT on but link is not in use when my phone is night off.
Vibration On
Sounds Off
For now I think draining is normally as you said.
But to have this, I do soft reset after every activities.
Is it the right thing to do ?
I think I won’t try to do some soft reset after the next charge. -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I would say that 4% is worse than before the summer update… before this update which changed the watch faces, I had to charge every 4 weeks, and now the battery lasts about 3 to 3,5 weeks… without changing any settings…
-
@SuperFlo75
After a soft reset and no activities ?
Because there are still some drain issues, so it should be taken into consideration when doing comparisons -
@sartoric I really think that there are still some drain issues… I do about 3 hours Running activity per week, HR is 24/7 on, sleep tracking is on, but normally I don’t do a soft reset… the only thing I changed now is that I use ZoneSense and the HR belt… I didn‘t use a belt before the ZoneSense app…

Sadly, not, before battery drain, it was around 2 % with HR and BT 24/7 for sure.
The big drain is out but not the short one. -

Of course, Suunto announced 60 days of daily use when the vertical was out. And it was that until update caused battery drain.

I think I identified a new pattern for the battery drain without actually starting the exercise
Navigate to quick start menu of a exercise (eg running)
Configure setting
Abort (go back)
Did it twice after I had resettled the watch from an exercise and I got like 1% drain per hour on idle@isazi Do you know if this one is also confirmed by Suunto (and not fixed yet)? I think I ran into the same issue last week.
During an evening run, I enalbed the backlight of the watch during the activity. Afterwards, I went into the options of my running profile to check if it was a one time setting or that the backlight was enabled now for every future running activity. It was off, so I exited the config menu.After that, I noticed a huge battery drain of around 10% per day where 1-2% per day is my baseline.

I charged my suunto vertical solar to 100% on 20.10.
I do only weight exercises twice a week and have 24/7 hr and sleep tracking on. Battery is 20% at the time od writing this post. Maybe best solution would be to sell the watch and go back to garmin… -

Sure, if it will make you happy.
-
@colakovitz seems that suunto cannot solve this drain issue is your watch made in China? Perhaps contact the chinese support
-
Roughly 2 hrs activity with map and navigation, HRV with watch … end of the day, battery consumption was 9% … not really convincing
-
@colakovitz Suunto Vertical (no Solar) charged to 100% on october 22th.
After 13h of activities (11h outdoors with GPS) battery is now at 34% (13 days). With these numbers I think I’ll recharge on thursday with battery around 20%. This is 15-16 days from full recharge. Before the summer upgrade I recharged watch every 18-20 days (4-4,5% battery cosumption every day), now I recharge every 15-16 days (around 5% battery consumption per day) so battery consumption is higher than before. -
@sartoric so this is official suunto response?
Are you even planning to resolve the issue?
Refund me, and i go back to garmin… -
@colakovitz Did you buy a watch on the forum?
-
@colakovitz You will not find official answers from the manufacturer on this forum. This is where users try to help other users. Maybe someone would buy your watch, because most of them are satisfied with the watch.

@colakovitz, this isn’t Suunto’s support. If you need assistance, please contact them directly. A friendly reminder: being rude or sarcastic rarely helps.
