A crash happened again with Decoupling App.
@inkognito I’m not seeing this option on IOS. Am I missing something obvious or is there such option at all on iOS app?

@jussim SA profile > scroll to the bottom > send logs to suunto

Lol so again I’ve been messing around with my Suunto 9 and it crashed several times. I even did the “send logs to Suunto” and even that came back with an error message. Come on guys this is a joke now. Seriously, what gives?
Like I said in a previous post, I’m stuck with this thing so I’m trying to make the best of it. Lol I can’t even do that. I could never take this thing out for any serious activity under these circumstances.
-
@jussim when you send logs please contact me or another here with the time logs sent, time of the crash and Suunto App username, It will greatly aid a fix. Thanks.
-
@gi0vanni D’oh, so obvious now! Many thanks. Sent now.
-
@Umer-Javed - PS. Did the ‘soft’ reset as well

@Brad_Olwin
Hi Brad,I am having serieous issues with my S9B for draining the battery. I loose > 12% just overnight by doing nothing…I have to charge every 3rd day…How can I send logs which are picked up?
I am asking this, as I do not see any conversation where this is acknowlegde as an bug in the newest release. Thanks for reviewing this.

so, is the S5P firmware update stopped ?
-
@BertGe Sorry I missed this, have you tried a soft reset? Check to make sure the backlight is not set to on, this will drain the battery quickly.
-
So we are about 2 months since the new 9PP firmware. I’m getting an average of 10-11% battery drained in 24 hours on rest days without any activity.
- Watch charged fully
- Already tried the resets
- Already had the “recalibration” with full drain to full recharge.
- backlight off
- sleep tracking SpO2 on
- Alarm on with sound and vibration
- vibration only for all other notifications
- high frequency hr readings on
I’m assuming this is not just me alone.
I’m not complaining as much, as it works fine for me. But if this is the future with the new firmware direction, Suunto should consider updating the website listing from 21 days on 24/7+notifications battery life down to something more accurate with the latest experience.
-
@Umer-Javed Just checking but (8) is only on or off - no?
-
@wakarimasen thanks yes. To clarify, the frequency with this new firmware.
-
I see that with new firmware, only about two weeks worth of activities are now stored in the watch. At least that seems to be the case with 9B. So are the frequent crashes related to memory getting full or what? And why is it so hard to get any comment on these bugs from Suunto that are really affecting the user experience negatively?
-
@jussim NDAs prevent some from commenting but some of us here will not know the status or priority of addressing specific bugs.
-
@jussim Experienced same issue yesterday (Suunto 9 Peak). Crash during the run with Aerobic Decoupling app (after 19min54sec of running). Warm up phase->evaluating phase->CRASH. Logs send to Suunto today. After the crash watch went back to clock mode and it took a long time to find the GPS signal when trying to start the new running activity.
Decoupling app does not work for me in general, I had only one succesfull use of it. Usually I’m not even able to activate the Decoupling app in the SuuntoPlus menu in the watch…select->confirm->shows no app selected. To find and fix GPS signal after the crash: It seems that helped to start the new running activity without fixed GPS->End and save the activity properly->Start the new activity - GPS was found quickly as usual for this second start.

My experience too. Though I did find out that if it’s not getting activated, rebooting the watch seems to help. But haven’t really used it, because it just seems too prone crash and burn…

@tomkys That immediately after a crash/reset you do not get a quick GPS fix is normal, AGPS is erased and needs to be downloaded and applied again (10/15 min aprox).

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I came across this post and wonder if by any chance there will be a round this time as well? (I mean I would like to participate…) Thanks!

10/15 min is the max (it could take up to that time), but, for my personal case, after any softreset and quick sync with SA just after, the AGPS is applied more quicker than that, and GPS fix is reasonnable.
So, yes, could be normal if not quick fix withing the 10/15 min windows , but not worth waiting that long after any softreset.
