What do you expect from the next update?
-
@BrunoH Exactly. There aren’t many new features I’d actually use—just daily alarms, a configurable map data field, and more route storage on the watch. As an iOS user, I’d also love better per-app notifications and predefined replies, though even the newest models still lack those.
-
Obviously, each of us has a different need. I do not use my V1 to sleep and for the past 2 months (since I bought a mechanical steel watch for daily use), I only use it for running, swimming, biking, and kettlebell workouts.

-
I’d love a red light option for the flashlight (Race S screen flashlight) and automatic update of my min and max HR based on resting or sleeping heart rate.
-
Maybe, they could fix the firmware just to get live tracking app functional again.
-
reconnection to Bluetooth sensors after connection was lost during workout! It is a bug from one of recent software updates. In my case, I have to turn off Bluetooth by changing the battery mode and then turn it on again. only after that the watch will try to reconnect! Otherwise it will never reconnect and I have to finish workout and start another one

Add extra option to Enable/disable sleep mode without sleep start-end time.
-
Add breathing exercise/s for lowering blood presure (im 50
) with the optional use of the metronome function to the Spark as well. -
Use screen as a safety beacon for cars and SOS signaling

For me here’s a few improvement ideas ( in no particular order )
[1]
Recoverable Resources % after a crash/reset - I do find resources useful when it’s working so if it crashes near the end of the day it gets reverted back to 70%[2]
Custom alarms e.g Mon/Wed/Fri in addition to Once and Weekdays/Weekend options[3]
Have a virtual pacer build in to run profiles i.e. set distance and time together not either/or[4]
Automatic max heart rate/lactate threshold detection ( power and heart rate )[5]
Connect external sensors on-the-fly and re-connect if anything goes wrong[6]
Add FTMS support so we can control smart bike trainers via a workout or manually adjust the Watts/Grade/Resistance Level[7]
Built in workout screens so you can save an S+ slot used by Suunto Guides[8]
Much bigger fonts and light mode for Suunto Guides. There is opportunity to have more graphics e.g heart rate/power/pace gauges and turn into a more user-engaging experience[9]
Built-in Strava Segment Support[10]
A shorter inactivity alert e.g 55mins instead of 2 hrs / make user customizable based on your lifestyle. -

Connect external sensors on-the-fly and re-connect if anything goes wrongThis alone would make me happy. HR belt died in long run yesterday and no change to make optical HR kick in except to stop activity and start a new one

Tried even the power mode change which usually works for powermeter issue whan stopping for coffee break (would be another point to be fixed asap) -

There is a number of external HR sensors that use rechargeable batteries, so this happens more often than people think. I really like Coros armband HR sensor which is accurate, comfortable, and normally very reliable. But it has 38 hour battery life and from time to time I do run into this issue. There are chest sensors with rechargeable batteries too.
-
@sky-runner That does not solve the problem that the watch is not able to switch. I might have put down my HR belt because it hurts or whatever. The watch had OHR enabled for this activity, so it should be able to kick in either automatically or manually. Both was not possible.

Built-in Strava Segment SupportThis would be nice! Suunto does have S+ guide for handling Strava live segments but it is quite minimalistic. The thing that bothers me the most is that there is no way to tell which segment I am approaching and to choose from multiple segments that may start at the same place. The latter is actually quite common because many trail running segments start at trailheads but either have different lengths or diverge later.
Another thing that would be really nice to have is to see segments on the map for navigation. There are some segments that are complicated and difficult to follow, especially when we are talking about longer FKT like segments (or even actual FKTs). I think this would be much easier if segments implementation was native.
It is worth mentioning 3 things since we are talking about Strava segments.
-
Ability to navigate and follow a live Strava segment. Suunto is the only brand that allows this, perhaps because segments are implemented as S+ guide. With all other brands (Garmin, Coros, Polar), you can either follow a route or follow a segment, but not both at the same time. If segments become native, this should not be lost.
-
Ability to track downhill RUNNING segments. Only Garmin can do this. All other brands point to Strava saying that Strava blocks ALL downhill segments, but obviously that isn’t true because of the Garmin example.
-
The number of synced segments. I think because Suunto implements segments as an S+ guide is has a low limitation of only 20 segments. In practice this makes this feature quite unusable. After switching to Suunto from Garmin I have pretty much stopped using the live segments feature - that’s how basic and limiting it is.
If I was choosing between brands, for me live segment support would be a significant factor. But personally I don’t think Suunto would invest any efforts in this feature.

I didn’t say it it solves the problem. My comment was to emphasize that the problem is actually bigger than most people may realize.
-
- Toggle the flashlight on/off with a double press of a button, without having to navigate through the menus.
- Keep heart rate recording active when an activity is paused.
In the Suunto app:
- Add a calendar view showing the scheduled SuuntoPlus Guides (workouts) for each day.

I would love it!
