Suunto should know how normal users feel about this, don’t you think?

A normal user would discuss this matter with a little more respect towards Suunto and fellow community members.

I think respect for a company starts by great products that don’t give users problems and IF they do an outstanding service with the least impact to the user.

In what why my respect to other users is affected by criticism towards a company they also suffer from, I can’t see.
Unless your a real fanboy and don’t want to read anything bad…

@General_Witt so, thanks to some genius who showed me that my words for describing my “crown button feel” actually lead to your post.

I think I am this genius. Thanks for the compliment.
And congratulations, you entered into my very closed list of personal hidden users in this forum.
Don’t waste your time to answer me, I will not see anymore any of your messages. This user forum has this functionality for anyone peace of mind (use the search function to learn about it, if you are genious enough to understand how to use it).
        Bye.

          I’m not suffering at all

Snow is crystal the fire is cold
I sit back watch the sun turn gold
In the morning love is healing
Warm the frost deep in my bones

          Snow is crystal
          Love is pure

@Olaf-Gottschalk It wasn’t your first post with disrespectful comments about other members of this forum or Finnish engineers… There were enough mentions of these facts by other users which you choose to ignore. You insist instead to refer all the time to your right to criticise a company and your personal sufferings which result from the bad policies of this company. You also present yourself as one of the few responsible users that through criticism try to help Suunto improve its products and services.
I’m trying one last time to make myself clear and avoid any misunderstandings. Finding a problem, a bug, a mistake in respect to the function, design or quality of a product and writing about it, asking for corrections or suggesting possible improvements is what a big part of this forum is about. I read your findings, suggestions and remarks with great interest and although I don’t always agree with you, I appreciate your involvement and insights.
What I have a problem with is your tendency to get personal with and insult other users that don’t have the same opinion with you, share your suggestions or agree with your sentiments. I don’t mind reading that Suunto has a bad policy concerning returning and repairing defective products but I feel bad when somebody is called ironically “genius” because he dared to mention that there is already an earlier post about the same problem that you have with your watch! I really appreciate your insights about possible software shortcomings of the Race but I get angry when these insights lead to a collective disapproval (to put it mildly) of the professional adequacy of a whole nation…
Dear Olaf, nobody has a problem with your criticism or your opinions, it’s the way you sometimes refer to other people that opens the door for bad feelings. As the Germans say, “der Ton macht die Musik”!

@ppresing The rotating crown sometimes has less lift when I press it. I only can faintly feel the small moving when pressure on it. When I lift it up, I can again feel more movement when pushing, just like when I first used it…
              Does anyone have such experiences?
My problem is the same and thanks for redirecting to this thread. I have never bathed or showered with the watch on, and it happens to me in the morning when I get up or during the day, as you also write. And a gentle pull out helps, then the clicking resumes.

Has this happened to you as well?

                SOLUTION 2.0

Began experiencing the same “silent” or “soft” click with my 6 month-old Race. Took a sterile, individually wrapped alcohol pad and slipped it in the open spaces around the crown to give good rub. The crown is again clicking as it did when new.

                IMG_3657.png

There was no visible debris or other markings on the alcohol pad after the cleaning, so I’m unsure what the issue may have been. Regardless, my Race now functions as expected.

@Kristijan-Matulić Hi all - I had the same problem - and I have just tried compressed air, the same stuff I use for my computer keyboard, iPhone charging point, etc., - and it seemed to improve the clickiness.

Reading this I understand that this is not important at all but I’m curious about this.
That clickiness is happening only in the steel wheel or in both steel and titanium wheels?

Hello! It happened to me and my titanium unit.
                      3 months later :()
Tried pure isopropanol, then 99,9% methanol, after that also tried soft aliphatic dearomatized solvent, if grease should be eliminated by solvents. But nothing works, even WD40 did nothing.
It is quite annoying sensation of downgrade from physical click to “digital” one.

Was reasonable-happy, but now I’m ultra-dissapointed with this investment. Only 3 months of careful use…

as I’ve probably already said, be careful using isopropyl alcohol or any solvent on gasket.

crown clickness on my Race comes and goes, when it was new it clicked hard, then softer, once disappeared, but then recovered to disappear again … at the moment it is soft clicking pleasantly, changes seem to be unrelated to any external cause to me, I manage the Race quite carefully, never put it into water, my sport activity is moderate, so the crown isn’t solicited that much …

                            @Stefano-M64 polar opposite for me😀

I’ve worn my SS Race 24/7 since I got her in January so she’s in the shower every day, been swimming in the sea many times & on my wrist at work.

I work in the telecoms industry so she finds herself thrust into shit filled underground chambers all the time & then washed off with industrial strength hand cleaner & wet wipes…

She’s still like the day I got her in both appearance & crown ‘clickiness’, seems tough as old boots to me & I seriously couldn’t be happier with her (even more so after yesterdays awesome update).

I was encouraged by previous posts and some knowledge in solvents, sealing and cleaning agents, also, my post should warn all unlucky customers… if this happens - nothing will back your click again :()

Had my Race S for almost 3 weeks now. I’m not sure if it’s always been like this, but my top button is way clickier than the bottom button, which feels soft and a bit muffled (not as satisfying).

Even my crown feels clickier than the bottom button, i wonder if there’s any way to recover the clickiness, or if it came out of the box that way!

Hello, Race friends. I know it’s an old topic but if you permit me I’ll use it to ask my question here.
It’s been a while since my Race all black lost the clickiness of the crown button. Also due to that the movement of the crown when you push it I has become kind of shorter. The Race is hands down my favorite watch ever. But this hardware issue has been getting on my nerves for a while now and I’d like to have it resolved.
I’ve tried to submerge the watch in lukewarm water but no change whatsoever.
Has anyone tried sending in the watch for repair? Does Suunto repair this kind of problem? Does the problem reappear after a while?
Yesterday I bought a brand new SV, so I can afford to spend some time without my favorite watch.
                                  Thank you.

I own my Race for more than one year, its clickness comes and goes, sometimes is softer others stronger, now it is quite strong.
I never did something to improve or recover the clickness, have no idea why it behaves that way, but at the end I just don’t care

On my Race the clickiness seems to be irreversibly gone. No clickiness and the movement is sort of shallow. Tomorrow it will be picked and delivered to the repair center in Slovenia. Let’s see what they’ll do.
