Software update 2.30.32

I’m curious to see if I can get running estimate values now. the race hasn’t shown the values yet ️
-
Non doubt anymore… Thursday is the new Tuesday!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Cool, and the announced date is respected, thank you." Improved GNSS accuracy with updated GNSS firmware "
I’m waiting to see. I already thought it was perfect. -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos is there any info about the sleep tracking (awake time during sleep) bug. Does this update deal with that?
-
@Theo-Lakerveld there are sleep improvements. Not sure if it will solve it for you though.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Will the custom sport modes be reset after the update? (I might start crying)
-
I also wonder if the data sync between watch and SA is fixed now (different values between watch and the app on the ctl/atl/tsb/tss values)? Really hope so, this was one of the most annoying bugs. Would try that myself with short run but covid19 has another opinion on that
Also still to the future whislist that did not come with this update: during the night if do not disturb is on and the display is shut down, please make it possible to check the time without the whole screen activating to full brightness. For example upper or lower key would give a screen like in aod power saving mode or something like that.
Thanks for keeping your “promise” on November update, will have to explore more on the improvements

i don’t know for the race, but since my spartan (and then S9P, S9PP and now SV), if update is going normally (no bug), then custom sports modes are kept as-is.
-
@General_Witt No, everything is on its place
-
Yeah! Thanks! Some unexpected improvements. Also some that are extra to the release notes: E.g.: The date is now also fixed. It displays DD/MM now.

My first impressions:
Faster user interface - the improvement is visible
Improved stability
Improved GNSS accuracy with updated GNSS firmware
Improved raise to wake - the improvement is very great -
Older watch faces now also seem to use pixel shifting in always-on mode to mitigate potential burn-in effects
-
It appears like the weather widget is still bugged (small weather icon on the left of the widget missing).
-
This was a problem that support was aware of… but but but…
-
Tilt the wrist to activate mode is now absolutely brilliant! Very responsive.
-
@General_Witt Race it’s now a solid product!

Unfortunately, there is still very poor heart rate reading. I hope Suunto is working on it…
-
@gizmo well I went for a run for the first time without chest strap,I always use chest strap,in my Fênix 7 solar,955 and on previous watches I owned, because most of the watch in high intensity workouts don’t work properly, and even on steady runs if you have some hills tend to lag a bit to rise or down the HR. I tried to confirm if the statement of people of this forum about unreliable HR from Suunto Race is true. I took my Garmin forerunner 955 in right wrist and Suunto Race on the left,10 kms in both watches,05:27 pace average,139 bpm with a maximum of 149 on both,so for me is accurate, works fine. But again,if people want accuracy on HR readings make like i do, always use chest strap,is the only way.

I disagree with you, because Garmin 935/945/955, Fenix 6/7, Coros Pace 3, Apex PRO, Apple watches indicate the heart rate so precisely that an HR belt is not needed for regular running. In Race and Vertical it’s much worse. The WHR in these watches is so inaccurate and unstable that it is not suitable for any sport or even for measuring sleep parameters.
I agree that Race and Vertical are great watches, but the WHR is significantly inferior in terms of quality. I still believe that this problem will be fixed with new software. If not, I will have to sell my Race and go back to Garmin or Coros.
