2- ohr is switched off as well as any other sensors/metrics etc. I don’t use the watch between trainings
thank you for the information
1- Please tell me why is it obvious? Because for me it’s not. And how could you explain increased consumption only in certain modes, I guess if it’s really needed to be calibrated it will affect all modes without exception.
Correct! Maybe I did not read properly.
It’s ok to ‘calibrate’ li-ion once in a couple of months but this shouldn’t have anything with software updates. It’s not the first update for 9pp and I’ve never did (specially) calibration after any of them. So yeah, I bet standby mode is broken.
Sometimes the missing calibration after software updates is more obvious, sometimes not. That BMS is reset after some update is confirmed knowledge from Suunto devs. I never did calibration as well, as it levels out automatically. It is just good to know that a quicker dropping charge displayed after an update is to be expected.
PS: now I’m on a vacation without watch charger (as I usually do) from today I have to switch the watch off after every training just to be sure I can track my run in a few days. Nice. Reliable.
PPS: if calibration is really needed after every update then we (users) should hear it from Suunto release notes not from other users on the forum
Not needed. Just needed if you want to rest assured that a higher discharge rate after update is nothing bad. And this is why I begin with the “obvious”. This is like the tech support hotline asks you first if the power plug is plugged in and you of course are miles ahead with your own assessment of the situation. Still for some people calling, the plug indeed is not plugged

Hi, I rarely take off my watch but today while I was in the office, I put it on the shelf next to me and noticed that it doesn’t go to sleep (display all black) anymore after the usual time of inactivity. I’ve tried a soft reset but does not help. Anybody else?
-
@robis Reported and known by Suunto.
-
So the second time after the latest update my OHR stopped working during the night and I had to reset the watch in the morning. Does anybody else has a similar experience?
-
OHR stopped working yesterday, but right after nightsleep. Statistics from the night were already a littlebit odd (too short) and later I noticed that OHR was not working anymore. Softreset helped and last night statistics are more accurate also

I have no idea what is going on now. I put the watch on a drawer before going to bed and noticed the display was always on. I noticed the battery was low (8%), put it on the charger, this morning the display was still on. Standby and rise to wake are off. I am staring at the watch now and it’s still on, it never goes off anymore and reboots do not help. Anyone else experiencing something similar?
P.s. I have noticed the same behavior with the Vertical once (same scenario, low battery) and I am seriously thinking about moving to a different brand now.

@tomasbartko I asked for a few posts above. It’s a known bug.
-
@robis just to rule out everything - did you check if the Brightness setting is off in the control panel as well?

I have:
Brightness low
Standby off
Raise to wake off -
@tomasbartko This is specific to the 9PP, the display does not go off and Suunto knows about this. It will reduce battery life some but it will not affect the function of the watch other than some loss of daily battery life.
-
I noticed that if you go to Settings --> Display and toggle OFF standby, the display stays always ON and the other way around, I had the setting toggled OFF and the display goes black after a few seconds of no movement. Isn’t this counter-intuitive?
haven’t noticed anything strange with battery life but it’s also hard for me to compare: I used the watch only for training before this update, and now I am tracking sleep and 24 hours HR so I have it always on -
@Brad_Olwin thanks for the information. The frustration levels rise from time to time as I’m trying to pitch Suunto to friends and family as super cool, but then something pops up, like this.
-
@robis what I meant is this setting (same on 9PP):
-
@tomasbartko yep that off as well
-
@Stoke80 I have hard reset the watch and still no daily or weekly goal notifications,
Could this be because I have increased my daily goals?
Are the people that are getting the notifications using the standard daily goals?
-
2.30.38? Bugfix?
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel Damn you, just as I was going to lunch.

And again - all custom sport modes were deleted except one. It really pisses me off

@false same here. One of my profiles got removed too. That’s a pity as it was a hiking profile with plenty of data fields.
